  1. Eh, we've had a better spread of grosses this year compared to last. It's just been this Summer that's been barren. Part of that has to do with the chosen tentpoles just not being things audiences are responding to.
  2. 15m would be fantastic. People were obviously overreacting yesterday about the Wednesday numbers. Under 50% drop is possible. Mummy may pull right at 30m, possibly under depending on the Saturday hold. 100m is dead for it given the reception.
  3. 1. Detroit 2. A Ghost Story 3. Wind River 4. Dunkirk 5. Blade Runner 2049 6. War for the Planet of the Apes 7. It 8. Baby Driver 9. The Big Sick 10. Atomic Blonde
  4. I'd disagree, 2014 we even nominated two of them for BP at the BOFFYS. And 2012 (both times) TDKR even topped the list. Theres always at least one comic book movie that makes the list (besides maybe 2015, which didn't even really have a single decent one)
  5. It also wasn't on the NBA finals, weeklies behaved much differently in 2013 due to how big Tuesday's have gotten, it had poor reception, had a different demo than WW and it had much stronger Thursday preview competition. 5-10% Thursday drop sounds reasonable. Also, on a side note, its being received very well amoung the women demos. I could see it pulling stronger than expected holds.
  6. Lol people always overreact when we get Wednesday numbers. Especially given the NBA Finals also being yesterday.

  8. Yeah, I'm thinking sub-30m OW for Mummy might happen. International looks like it'll save it though.
  9. Okay... I at least hit the target.
  10. Lol at Guardians, Snatched, LEGO Batman Spot on for BATB, Fate, Split and Fifty Shades
  11. I should have stuck with my sub-60m Mummy predict from the beginning of the year. This looks like a slightly more high profile Dracula Untold.
  12. Batman Begins level drops seem out of reach due to that movies opening, however it's similar to WW. They're both origin stories, June releases, well-received and were following toxic previous entries to their series. I think WW will definitely be more frontloaded for a variety of reasons, but I don't think a 3x+ multi is out of reach.
  13. I'm not sold on a sub 50% drop yet, but sub-55% could easily happen. It has all of the right factors to have solid legs.

  15. This puts it on a good track for around a 50m second weekend or so. That'd be a great second weekend drop.
  16. At this point I myswell go with some out of the box stuff, my preseason is getting killed by these underperformers (I even predicted Alien underperforming, but much better legs than that)
  17. If you adjust for inflation you can even compare WW to Transformers (which did open on a Wednesday, but it still would have managed well over 3x with a Friday opening) Theres a few other comps you can compare to as well.
