  1. It was a nice and entertaining movie for those looking for adventure, mixed with some romance, a bit of soul searching, and a cast with good chemistry. The trapped in a video game aspect worked well and is a fresh concept on the big screen (obviously manga/anime did this years before Hollywood but whatever). My audience was very very into it, so congrats to the Rock and co
  2. So, they don't want to release the trailer online? Maybe it's a new marketing strategy.
  3. Meh, there's no use crying over spilled milk. Whether we like it or not, Fox was set to be sold. If this means less indie movies, less R-rated movies, and less diversity in movies, than the rule of competition will set in and one or more studio(s) will take the opportunity to fill in this gap.
  4. I hope I'll get the chance to witness the box office of another original movie with a sub 100 OW and a 9+ multiplier like Avatar.
  5. Such hate for Avatar. IMO it's the second best movie ever made, behind only Titanic. Avatar was to me The king of event movies. I've watched it countless times and it never gets old. I seriously don't know anyone in real life who dislikes this movie.
  6. Join the club! I'm such a huge Cameron fan, I'm just so happy I can look forward to seeing one of his new creations.
  7. So, Thor has passed winter soldier worldwide and is now on his way to pass GOTG1 and settle at #7 of highest MCU earners . Only the non-Avengers movies Iron Man 3, Spider-Man: HC and GOTG2 will have higher earnings then.
  8. Or maybe people can just like whatever they want? A majority disliking a movie doesn't mean a minority can't like or support it. My wish for WB tackling the upcoming DCEU: - please wait at least 5 years or so before making another Batman movie - more focus on other DC superheroes - don't interpret the backlash as meaning be more like marvel, just do your own thing BUT bring your A-game while doing it
  9. Jup, JL and TR are definitely hurting each other...why didn't they choose better dates to open :/
  10. TR and JL are direct competition for each other, probably JL coming out is giving it 'bigger' drops. Wished these movies were separated by 4 weeks.
  11. Don't want to be banned from the justice league thread so I'll post this here. I'm a little bit disappointed with "it's super FUNNNN" being the center of the reactions. To me, it kind of seems that WB is now maybe copying(?) Disney? I hope this is just an identity crisis and DCEU will continue working on finding their own unique identity. Anyway hoping that I'll enjoy the movie :).
  12. I think that's rather naive to think. If Disney gets their hands on Fox, I'm pretty sure FF and all X-men go straight to MCU, and SW straight to Lucasfilm. It makes no sense to release a Marvel movie under the Fox banner. Either way it doesn't really matter to me. I personally like the tone of X-men/Deadpool, but if the majority wants the lighter tone of MCU than so be it *shrugs*. What matters to me is ALL the other Fox movies/franchises that IMO would be ruined thoroughly with Disney's formula :(.
  13. I really hope the deal won't be made...If Fox is so desperate to sell, than sell FF and X-men to Disney (that way fanboys will finally stop whining) and sell all the other properties to other studios (so Cameron still gets to make the movies he envisions and other beloved franchises won't be cookie cutter formulated).
  14. I haven't seen it yet, so can't judge it. But I showed my brother the trailer and he was complaining that Hollywood lately only makes movies with people he doesn't know.
  15. Cool! From the way Bailey is positioned and the way they compare her to Neytiri it seems that she'll be the lead female
  16. I'm so happy this is finally happening, fi-nal-ly new movies by James Cameron! They are definitely my most anticipated movies in upcoming years.
