Wow, didn't even know some of these movies were announced. I'm most hyped for Alita: Battle Angel, Robin Hood, The Predator, Jurassic World 2, and depending on the reviews Aquaman and Dark Phoenix. Most likely a superhero movie will win the year, but I'm rooting for Alita to break out big. Will post my predictions somewhere in december.
Same here, tickets cost like 12-14€ here...The only movies I think I ever saw multiple times in the cinema were Titanic and Avatar. Only Cameron can make me do that lol.
Meh, the reviews confirm my fears. In theory this movie has absolutely everything I find interesting, especially the raves about avatar like special effects. However, all that is nullified if the two leads are uncharming, lack chemistry, and are seemingly miscast :-(. DeHaan and Delevigne also kind of look like twins instead of love interests IMO...
I'm sorry but I don't know how you came to that conclusion? I think we can all agree that batman is a first tier SH and when that character was in the exact same position as current spidey (batman begins after batman & robin and Batman Forever) the box office results weren't that stellar either.
Meh, would it really be that surprising for Homecoming to not have a spectacular OW? It's the 6th spider-man movie in a relatively short time, with the former three movies being perceived as "mediocre". People were getting a bit tired of spider man because of that. The marketing also wasn't really that good to be honest..my friend at first didn't want to see it because she didn't like the trailers.
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if it has a box-office run like WW: OW on the lower side with good legs due to WOM. I don't see apes, dunkirk, or valerian being that much competition.
I think the reviews are definitely responsible for these numbers. Colleagues of mine mentioned they were definitely interested in seeing the movie, but not in the cinema because they read it was a bad movie..
But Avatar 2 is directed by James Cameron and he seems very passionate about it. I mean this is the guy who does not give up on projects despite everyone and their mom saying it'll be a failure and he ends up surprising again and again.
I'm not a fan of the MCU, but with how much GOTG/CA2/IM3 did number wise even I expected an increase from the first Avengers movie. Why did those movies benefit so much from A1, whereas the actual Avengers sequel did not? I'm interested in what happened as I don't think being a sequel automatically explains everything.
