Idk WB is still very mute when it comes to this movie’s marketing which baffling given that that’s the case with movies that turn out to be awful.

Good comedy does not see boundaries.Plus, didn’t they say that the comedy in Shazam is not based on one liners but the situations that these kids find themselves into?

One of the best trilogies this decade tbh just don't kill any animal this time.Also doggos were the MPV just for being there .

IMO, even if the worst case scenario happens (150M/350M) this will be profitable

From what my understanding is from the reactions,Shazam is just like the kind of films me and my friends and basically my entire generation grew up with.And while we are all grown up now I find myself excited to see a film where the elements of these films are represented with a superhero twist. What I want to say is that Shazam's premise and themes are pretty universal and something that European audiences are pretty familiar with. China is a wild card because my understanding is that the film relies heavily on the family and not the action and that makes it way more appealing to me.

Doesn't this that the films will have to share screens?

If Us break out to 60M + m then I also predict 2 things: 1.Captain Marvel will crawl to 400M 2.Dumbo and Shazam! Won’t break out

The trailer was as good as the posters were awful and that’s the best compliment I can give it right now.But Margot Robbie is in it so I will be there opening night.

That’s exactly what I said.With Us,Dumbo,Shazam and Pet Sematary all opening in the next few weeks and all getting great buzz i’m Inclined to believe that they will take screens and audience away from CM.Remember that Guardians only had Wonder Woman in each 5th week but other than that the competition was pretty shit quality wise and it also benefited from summer weekdays.Hell I hi kitty in the coming week Wonder Woman May overtake CM in the dailies.

It’s more likely than not that it will pass Wonder Woman But it’s not locked me thinks.From this weekend on up until April 5 we will have a major release that will take a bite from its theater,screens and ultimately audience.Us,Dumbo and Shazam have great early buzz and appeal to all demos.If it follows Guardians 2 which had summer ahead of it and registered a similar second weekend, it gets to like 410M (giving it slightly better holds)which is 2.5M shorter than Wonder Woman.Good lord was Wonder Woman’s run epic. edit:just realized that it will only be in its 3rd weekend so it won’t loose many theaters when US comes out or if it will loose theaters at all.Idk how this works.

Yeah my phrasing was stupid as hell.I mentioned WB because they (will) have 2 billion films but I appreciate them because they also have 2 major horror franchises (conjuring,it),one monster franchise (Godzilla v kong) and then they will throw something original in the mix like a Nolan film or something.What's the last time Disney had one of those?

That’s honestly why I appreciate a studio like WB a lot more.Disney relies so heavily in live action adaptations,Star Wars And Marvel to make a shitload of money. I mentioned WB because they just had Aquaman making it to the Billie and i’m Pretty sure Detective Pikatchu will get there as well.

My guess right now is that this will go a little over Wonder Woman and we will have two ladies as leads in the top superhero solo films.

Why would you think so ? I am very curious about this movie's run in China.I don't think that this movie is their cup of team but it's still something fresh on a genre that China loves.

Didn't "counterpart" manage a great multy?Plus,counterpart did not have half then thi g going on for it like CM.

I didn't say that Watson is a draw.Watson in the right role is a draw.IMO,there is no such thing as a box office draw these days unless your name is DiCaprio.But certain actors have a certain following that they are always to see them when they star in a movie that they are interested in.Watson's following didn't show up for Perks but they sure as hell were there for Beauty and the Beast.Beauty and the Beast could was alway going to be a huge success but imo Watson pushed it a little bit further.

I think these predictions came with everyone being blinded by Aquaman’s success.Could still happen but difficult.Very difficult

Still there was so much momentum and novelty going in that they should have given it the attention it deserved.I would name a certain other superhero who got their big break recently but this belongs to the franchise wars and I won't get into that.That being said,that film felt important.

Maybe this is getting a boost because yesterday was Women's Day?In China the numbers are decreasing slightly...maybe we will have the same trend in the US?150M should still happen.
