  1. I am this close to writing an entire essay / rant in defense of Ikaris but at some point it gets chessy and melodramatic so I don't want to go there....
  2. I thought Kingo not taking side and staying the f out of the final fight was brilliant. Haven't seen a move so true to the character that was established in the previous 2 hours. I was fully expecting him to make a superhero entrance but darn I was so glad he didn't and whoever thought of that is a genius.
  3. I mean yeah what Druig was doing to these people in the forest was much worse than whatever Ikaris did. At least Ikaris did whatever it takes to complete the mission he was tasked with all these years ago so he could go back to his home and be with the woman he loves. Druig was just side-eyeing humanity and got a bunch of them killed. But I guess twitter was too busy thinking when he will stick his tongue into Makkari to notice the shit things he did. P.S. still like Druig
  4. Expectation is really what makes success. I remember back in 2003 when a stupid WB wreck, can't remember which one, went publicly and said that they expected a billion dollar film out of Man of Steel, and given the hype with each (fantastic) trailer and poster and it coming after Nolan's Batman films and expected to kick off the DCEU...audiences were ready for the second coming. It was insane. And then the reviews came out and the were mixed. And audiences liked it but it was no TDK level. And top of all that it made 640M. It was considered a disaster. But 9f you look at it the film did launch a franchise, it brought money back to the studio, its home media sales were very good and almost 10 years later it has a sizeable following (myself included).
  5. Am I doomed to love such divisive or panned films? Now it's Eternals and back then it was BvS or even MOS(which now actually has its fair share of supporters)?
  6. It's the first time that a Marvel movie stay with me for so long after I see it. Not even IW, which i absolutely love, stayed so much with me. And fuck Ikaris is such a fantastic character. Probably the most complex and layered in this universe, next to Wanda. And Madden was absolutely phenomenal.
  7. For its flaws, I loved this so much. Top 5 MCU films. Like it could drop some scenes, cut other short and even drop some characters without doing any difference but ultimately its flaws did not bother me. It's the first time in an MCU film, aside from IW and EG that were the big climax of the franchise, that i felt real stakes in a MCU film.I kean the film end with a huge ass frozen Arishman in the middle of the ocean. Zhao handles the pivotal characters, not all, with care. They have a purpose, a motivation and a reason. And their actions and decisions make sense. Ikaris was my favorite. First and foremost because he is not a bad guy yet he did some terrible things. Turned against his own family and tried to kill them, he'll he succeeded with one of them. But he is still a character that was not good or bad. The shades of grey and the moral dilemma was so interesting to watch. And if you think about it, it was the others that double crossed Ikaris. He lived all these years alone to keep Ajak's secret, tried to protect his family and hoped one day he would go back to his home and live with his loved ones. And one day the rest tell him that they have abandoned their mission, want to stay here and his whole purpose in life was just gone. And dude is a loyal soldier, too loyal. And even his final act, flying to the sun, made sense because he is a soldier and his purpose was ripped off him and it was his decision. So who he was at the end? Really beautifully crafted character. And a fantastic, heartbreaking performance by Madden. And Cerci was a well written character too but I just questioned her motivation the whole time. I didn't really care about the love triangle. But her willingly sacrificing all the other billion of life's that could have been born because she grew close to a human sounds egoistic and self centered to me. Maybe Cerci could take a couple of lessons from King though. Dude handled things better than any other from the team. And he was also very funny. Makkari was another fantastic character, really loved her and her big scene, where her rage allows her to be a threat to freaking Ikaris, was great. Druig, Thena and Sprite were nice too. Pastor was the one underdeveloped character for me. Maybe Zhao should have save some character for the sequel? Anyway, that was fantastic and I want to see it again.
  8. Ugh never thought of her (I mean she would actually make a perfect Snow White) but Gal is a fantastic choice.
  9. Look just the fact that after 10+ years of fresh films, this being the first rotten MCU film is a pretty big deal. Personally I find this even more exciting because, the movie itself and my pre-existing excitement aside, I want to see why the reviews are like this. Also, It only has 121 reviews to this point. The latest Marvel film ( Sang Chi) got 312 reviews so it's fair to say that this will get the same amount. This could very well end up at low 40s on RT.
  10. First rotten Marvel movie. Good God I was already excited for this but now I am 10x more excited now. I mean it will he so different to see what hit wrong about this movie...and something tells me I am gonna love it.
  11. I saw it was at 71% on RT and I was like "why people are panicking". Then I checked RT and saw that the score was for only 41 reviews and I was like...why people are panicking?
  12. I don't think Dune will be hurt by the hybrid release the way the rest of the WB films did this year. I am hearing lots of "it's great" and most importantly lots of "movie itself was meh but you have to see it on theaters". So there are two sides when it comes to the movie itself but both agree that this film needs the big screen.
  13. After these reactions , this is the most excited I have been for a Marvel film maybe ever. Like I loved IW, Iron Man and Thor among others but Marvel being formulaic was always a problem for me. If true, this is the first time they are taking a different approach and I'm 100% here for it.
  14. Exactly. I mean I can't count how many times I turned it off because of a CW show and turn it back on to see if there's something interesting. I recognize that there is an audience for these shows even though I can't find anything remotely decent on them so they should have just kept them separately.
