  1. You could made a valid argument in both for Davis. She completely disappears for a chunk of the movie. This isn't an Alicia Vikander situation (winning Supporting for what was unquestionably a lead role). But stay pressed!
  2. The thing that gives me pause for The Greatest Showman on Earth is that the behind-the-camera people are largely unproven (as in don't have much in the way of credentials either way). We shall see.
  3. Olivia Munn wishes she could snot-cry as flawlessly as Queen Davis.
  4. The first trailer for Disney's Dinosaur still wins this.
  5. Predicting at any point in time that an Antoine Fuqua-directed remake of The Magnificent Seven would get a Best Picture nomination deserves to go down in infamy alongside @Telemachos' Blackhat thread.
  6. I went to see Lion today and the people behind me were talking before the movie about whether or not they had seen, you guessed it, La La Land. Someone in the crowd, indeed.
  7. Kevin Bacon and John Goodman both did nothing in this beyond looking concerned. At least J.K. Simmons was involved in the shootout.
  8. There were actually a few families at my showing when I saw the movie when it was still in limited release. I won't be surprised if it becomes a classroom staple for years to come.
  9. Well, it's no secret his personal life has been in some sort of hell for a while now, so it's no wonder the stress is now beginning to become visible.
  10. I guess it's a good thing WB decided to move Live by Night up from its original October release when Justice League is about to open. Bad enough that expectations for that movie being any good are rock bottom at this point, last thing it needs is more potential bad press.
  11. 2 people have been in touch with their inner goddesses recently.
  12. BTW I saw Lion today and I'm pretty sure I've never seen so many old people with walkers in one place in my life. Oof. @Telemachos did you organize my showing?! Movie is great though, can definitely see why it's catching on.
  13. I didn't care for the movie and thought Berg wasn't sure if he was making a movie or a reenactment, but they stick pretty close to the facts (the news/surveillance footage was real- they didn't superimpose the faces of the actors playing the bombers onto the real bombers, though the actors they got look enough like the real people that some might think they did). Only Wahlberg's character and everything involving him was fictionalized.
