its a fair point though. If Incredibles 2 manages 600M then we'll have had four 600M movies within 6 months. That's quite a lot. and I agree it's difficult to be engaged by the amazing numbers.

Oh for some reason I read it as 3 per month. Yeah 12 a month is easily enough for vast majority, thats close as possible to unlimited. Hope it catches on the US because its a huge success in the UK and works very well. Saves you so much money if you want to see a lot of films.

This movie is kind of a waste of time, it's not as good as the original because the original has less to it, the plot here doesn't do it any favours. They repeat a LOT of the same jokes. And they have the characters laughing at jokes from the first movie, the meow joke which is really funny in the original, here the cops find the original motorist and go on about how funny it was when they did the meow routine. That being said I just really enjoy the company of the actors, they have a comedic spark between them. It doesn't matter whether the rest of the film is any good. Also I'm sorry but people doing stupid French accents will never not be funny.

Super Troopers 2 has a joke in it where the American cops are shouting at the Canadians and exclaim that they burned down the white house. Few weeks later, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was angry at Justin Trudeau and told him that his country burned down the white house... Coincidence? Scary to think that the Supreme Leader gets his history education from fucking SUPER TROOPERS 2.

Dunkirk made 190M. I dont see how AQP makes another 4M when its doing 50k dailies and 300k weekend. It can stand proud in beating Get Out though

Here are all (I think) the films from this year that I've seen. All the money in the world - boring waste of time, worst Ridley movie in years Molly's Game - dumb and hated everything about it Coco - dull and generic kids movie Commuter - another boring Liam Neeson movie The Post - stupidly written and too on the nose, Spielberg needs to stop doing anything of importance and make Indy 5 before I get annoyed Darkest Hour - nothing of value apart from Gary Oldman Maze Runner 3 - this actually didn't suck as much as I thought it would but it was still rubbish Early Man - real let down by Aardman, I barely laughed Downsizing - ?????? Shape of Water - weird and couldn't stand any of the characters GAME NIGHT - forgot about this, sorry. I enjoyed this Red Sparrow - mostly very dull, couple of good painful scenes don't redeem it Love Simon - horrific and terrible teen movie that should be purged from existence Black Panther - same as any other boring marvel movie except it was like 3 hours long Tomb Raider - unnecessary reboot and didnt like Vikander Ready Player One - didnt make any sense and didnt care about anyone in it Blockers - the least I have laughed in any film this decade Thoroughbreds - pretentious nonsense A Quiet Place - works as a short film maybe but as a feature film it was pretty boring after about 25 minutes Rampage - let dowwwwwn and not even so bad its good Annihilation - nonsense rubbish Avengers - same as other marvel films no point to them Deadpool 2 - I hate Deadpool Book Club - nothing, waste of time Solo - pointless addition to star wars Jurassic World - same as above Super Troopers 2 - the same as super troopers the first one so might as well just watch the first one The other films I already mentioned. Mom & Dad, and Unsane are great, YWNRH is fantastic, everything else sucked in the past 6 months. Hope the second half of the year picks up a bit.

we know they can create more dinosaurs... doesn't mean you dont feel sorry for an animal being left to die. not really "logic error", it's just writing stuff that isn't accurate to the real world. My dad is/was a volcanologist and I asked him if that stuff bothered him... he said no because it's a fantasy movie. If he can't criticise it then no one can and yes $4 million per species is pretty low, $40 million for such a huge job that requires 100+ men to carry out?

I wondered how the print I watched of 2001 yesterday was in such good nick, and Ive done some reading and apparently there was a batch of brand new 70mm prints made by Christopher Nolan. So technically I seen another Christopher Nolan movie. In which case, wow he's improved as a filmmaker recently. Also explains the WB logo at the end which confused me...

Watched this for the second time, I'm not smart enough to put into words how immensely complex this film is but it is really extraordinary. Everything in the frame has a purpose in what it looks like and what it means. It is incredible. Also was very nice being with other people who clearly felt the same way, because not only did the whole audience sit through the credits, we all sat in silence through the 5 minute outro after the credits, to a black screen, until the film reel was completely done.

I wouldn't describe Smaug as a "hook". dont think it is much dispute that it's harder for a film to increase/expand if it starts from a much higher point...

That's with most Pixar films now, they're no longer special, just kind of nice while they last. Except Inside Out of course.
