    So the second weekend can also be better than TA1's? And how good is this weekend from TA1 in terms of dollars? And could the second weekend remain atleast on flat with the TA1 in terms of dollars?

    80M should happen. Infact that opening would put it in line to have a final total of slightly less than 85m. That is, of course, considering that this is a sequel so frontloaded and also that this will not have very good WOM. If on the other hand glowing WOM does happen, the final gross may even come to be closer to 90 than to 85.

    I brought the A's and the B's on level . Surprised ,to be honest, though, i had thought that the B's would be well ahead of the others. Seems like this will have a cinemascore of either A- or B+. I'll give it a B+ myself but i'm going to download an english version and subtitles as soon as I can and only after rewatching thus will I be able to give a perfect opinion.

    As far as as comparison goes, its obviously foolish to be expecting this to be as good as or having as great a story as, lets say, The Godfather, but isn't it fair to be comparing this with TDK? Or TA1 or Watchmen or last year's comic book stuff, the genre toppers? This is a CBM and 'will' be compared to them, sequel or not. As Roger Ebert used to say - you can't rate a movie, or anything for that matter, without comparing it to others of the same genre.

    And berserk is reaaaaaly good as far as dark and violent animes go, although i have personally only read the manga. Bastard is also another good and similar series.

    Anybody who deliberately decides to not watch Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood is making one of his biggest and most regrettable mistake of his life (okay thats a little too much but still, it would really be a very bad choice)

    Sorry, i actually meant 1.1B$ OS. 1 B$ has been locked since before last week.

    What the hell are you talking about? He gave it 3 out of 5 stars. That's actually a positive review. And its not like he is a generous reviewer - just a few days back he gave Mr. X 1 star. He also said that a reason for not liking was the too-high expectations due to the first film and that if we go with slighly lesser expectations, we'll quite enjoy ourselves. That was anything but a "badly panning" review.

    Sorry but you're wrong. This could have easily beat F7 in India had it not been for such a low number of screens compared to that. Everybody around here was much much more excited for TA2 than F7. Didn't you and the other people complain when the subtitles were gone?

    I believe this can come close to 75m $ here. Would be incredible if it crosses that.

    There is LITERALLY nothing going right for this movie. Those crappy exchange rates, this, no holiday openings, very-bad release date in china, that too on a tuesday and with a number of other hollywood and local movies releasing very close to it, people watching it with the "better than first one or not" mindset causing reduction im good WOM and many other things. Even here in India it is releasing in less than half the no. of screens than FF7.

    I know but a few upsets or heavy drops may still stop it. Its almost sure that it will gross 1.1B OS but still, there is nothing bad in hoping, right? As for DH2, it fell just 40m short of 1B OS

    I hope F7 stops behind DH2 in WW gross, but there's no point in hoping the same for TA2 so I wish it may go as high as possible.
