Pre-Retcon Beyonder. Just one line - "The smallest electron in my little finger is more powerful than all of the powers of your universe combined !" -
Which Phase 3 film are you most excited for?
Infernus replied to Mulder's topic in Marvel Media's Topics
I guess that after the news of spiderman in CA3 it is pretty obvious that it will be everybody's top choice. But apart from that I am really looking forward to Dpctor Strange. I have been literally waiting for that movie for years now. I just can't wait to see Sorcerer Supreme on the Big Screen! -
What boxoffice runs are unbelievable in retrospect?
Infernus replied to lilmac's topic in Classic Box Office Runs
Also, what about SW? I mean of all the runs i have closely read about Titanic's seems to be like the most unbelievable and extraordinary one. The more I look at its grosses - Dom, Os, Weekends, weeklies, dailies or its legs or the buzz that surrounded it or the way it took the world by storm, the more amazed I get. And yet its pretty much clear that Star Wars' run must have been even more unbelievably unbelievable, extraordinarily extraordinary and amazingly amazing. Its possibly the most culturally significant piece of entertainment media of the entire 20th century and definitely the most culturally significant and impactful film of all time. And to think that yet, released ~40 years before this and thus facing all the hardships I previously mentioned, Gone with the Wind is still almost a full unadjusted Shrek 2 ahead of even it (based on only their initial earnings) .... !!! .......... -

Needless to say the fact that Gone with the wind made thrice the amount just two years later and has an adjusted gross of around 800m $ more than it (snow white) is super mind blowing!!!! -

Plus, US population was like 1/3rd of what it is now and the percentage of population who couldn't afford to spend money on such leisures as films was quite more too. -

I am surprised nobody thought of this before but - "Snow White" !! I mean the movie was reallu believed to be "Disney's Folly' before its release what with it having an enormous budget of 1.5 mln$. And in 1937, when there were much lesser theaters and when this was the first full length animated feature of all time, it grossed 643 m$ adjusted!!! Then, 80m in 1983, 98m in 1987 and 83m in 1993 for a total adjusted gross of 904 m $ !! The movie is still the 10th highest grossing Dom on adjusting for inflation. -
No. Any good act that he ever did was just because he loved lily not because he wanted to do the good. He was not really evil, yes, but still he was not a good person either and I don't really think he can even be called neutral. All in all I guess on a scale of 1 to 10 of from good to bad he would be at 6.5.

Congrats on the oscar nomination. The exclusion of LEGO movie was a surpirise. In all honesty though, I am rooting for The tale of princess Kaguya to win this. -

WooHoo! Hurrah for Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z making it to the top 50. To be honest i am quite surprised at pokemon getting this high, but then maybe I am not the only one who loved it as a kid and who has quiet somr fond memories of it. On the other hand i think dragon ball z should have been a lot higher.

I still can't believe Looney toons couldn't even make it to the top 100. If any "saturday mornjng cartoon" deserved it, it was this one. It should have been in the top 25 atleast, if for nothing else than atleast for its legacy, pure classicness, and the mere fact that it brought probably some of the greatest cartoon characters ever all into a single show!

So it seems the only anime to get to the top 100 (and hopefully the top 50) is dragon ball Z with Bleach, Naruto, FMA:BH and FMA coming the closest. If only those 4 would have been in the top 100 too.... And to think that I could have single handedly brought all of them (except FMA) to the top 100 by placing them just one or two spots higher...
