  1. I bet this actually makes a good sum of money. Good counter-programming for the behemoth that will be Star Wars. The story is quite compelling. It is about Joy Mangano, inventor of the miracle mop and I guess her interactions with four generations in her family. It is a really interesting story, full of betrayal. Joy is a really powerful lady and I think it will have a strong feminist message
  2. I'll take it! Also, I made some dumb bets coming to Minions. Under 300m?!? I never believed that haha.
  3. I've heard more Moneyball, less Social Network. It is apparently more more lighthearted than SN. I hope this plays at TIFF. It is one of my most anticipated movies of the year even though it didn't collect a lot of passion at the test screening.
  4. WOWS was fine. I am a huge Scorsese fan but it isn't up to par which has nothing to do about content. It isn't Goodfellas good and it could have been with better editing. It is a huge fanboy movie though, so I know these probably will be divisive words. 7/10 and Raging Bull is my favorite movie ever.
  5. There is no way this is coming out this year. This is a Scorsese passion project and I think everyone can agree that WOWS could have been saved with more time in post-production. Marty has kept films in post-production for many years before, and I am sure he wants to nurture this. Scorsese doesn't care about Oscars, but Paramount does, so we'll see it late next year.
  6. Is it possible for Terminator to be at 85m through next weekend?
  7. Is there anyway Universal finds a few million and take the records? Didn't Friday go up from the industry number that Gopher and rth provide?
  8. I just recently became versed with film, so I feel my 65-05 won't be representative of a good sample, but I would love to contribute in the 2015 1/2ways! 1. A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence 2. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl 3. Inside Out 4. Clouds of Sils Maria 5. Mad Max: Fury Road 6. Timbuktu 7. Duke of Burgundy 8. Testament of Youth 9. It Follows 10. Ex Machina
  9. 1. Joy 2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3. Carol 4. The Good Dinosaur 5. The Revenant 6. Hail, Cesar! 7. Bridge of Spies 8. Macbeth 9. Everest 10. Paper Towns (Nat Wolff is a cutie.)
  10. WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING? To me it looks like a thorough full story. The trailer is actually quite touching and this may be a tear-jerker. At least for me because I'm pathetic.
  11. I haven't! The film is adapted by the author of the book so I am sure it is a suitable companion. The screenplay was really zany and quite fabulous. I hope it breaks out big when it goes wide. It definitely has a fair share of critics who vehemently hate it. I am on the awardswatch website too and it just gets panned there. I don't agree with the comparison to other melodramatic YA movies, because this one is self-aware and shows some true moments of sincerity. I personally have it a 4/4 on my site and think everyone, especially millennials, need to see it.
  12. It is so fabulous. Number 3 on my Top 10 of the year so far. I've never cried more during a movie.
  13. PTA definitely has fans. The Master was his magnum opus and Inherent Vice was very risky yet still really well done. Huge PTA fan haha.
  14. My impression is that Spy and Tomorrowland have to cross $100m to keep this on track, right? I don't see a world in which Spy doesn't make it. On the other hand, if Tomorrowland crosses it will be like Cinderella's last few weeks to $200. Is their even a chance with double features and all?
  15. Maybe I am insensitive, but I found the aforementioned scene so convoluted and stupid that I thought it was supposed to be comedic? After that scene I was just confused as to what it accomplished though.
  16. The kids in my IO showing were awful. Ruined the most quiet and touchin moment. Obviously, I'm not four and can't relate to not being able to focus for an hour and a half, so I will give them a pass. I just won't be going to anymore matinees.
  17. I never thought that was a problem. I think that BDH was clearly the lead. Pratt didn't have much of an arc and his character never exceeded an expectations. He was just marketed because he is a box office pull. There were many other problems however...
  18. Don't get me (us?) wrong. Just because it is like a 4 or 5/10 for me doesn't me I am not having fun knock down all the of these records. Even though I think Avengers is th better film, new and box office records to well together!
