Don Cheadle- Miles Ahead Eddie Redmayne- The Danish Girl Leonardo Dicaprio- The Revenant Michael Fassbender- Steve Jobs Geza Rohrig- Son of Saul Michael Caine- Youth Bradley Cooper- Burnt (can't doubt him with his record. Have a feeling this will close TIFF) Ian McKellen- Mr Holmes Tom Hiddleston- I Saw The Light Abram Attah- Beasts of No Nation. This category is luckily getting a little stronger. I have little confidence in Depp or Cranston. Probably not giving enough credit to Hanks, the role just looks basic and like something he can do in his sleep. If he didn't get a non for Captain Phillips, I don't see why he'd get one here.

Predict Early 2016 Oscar Nominations a Year Out

I think Joy has a great chance too. DOR's movies have never been stunning in cinematography, but that trailer is absolutely gorgeous and dreamlike. -
Inside Out The Good Dinosaur Shaun the Sheep When Marnie Was There Anomalisa Peanuts The Little Prince Anomalisa is definitely in if it gets US distribution this year. It's Kaufman and claymation. The Academy will eat that shit up.

Anniston looks hotter now than ever. Can't say the same about Pitt, but he is still quite handsome. -

Shutting this down. What's the point of pitting them against each other? They will never compete for the same award ever and both have great filmographies and an Oscar. They have great on screen chemistry and this movie will be led by that, not by someone stealing the show. -

I just watched this again. The trailer is beautiful and super well directed. The shot of Jolie crying on the bed is stunning and the sea is captured so iridiscently. I am hoping for a brighter but still as harrowing Blue Valentine thematically, but I decent film directed by Jolie would be a huge win too. -
The Duke of Burgundy (2015)

This was absolutely phenomenal. Technically impeccable and so incredibly well acted especially by Sidse. There is a tinge of creepiness that balances out the sexy and morose. This is so much more than any way I could describe it. The atmosphere is so fantastic and cinematic; it totally engrossed me. One of the few films this year that I think will only get better with age and more rewatches. 3.5/4 -

This actually looks really great. My interest is definitely piqued. -
Just got done watching this. I found it quite insightful, nostalgic and touching. Woody Allen and Diane Keaton had lovely chemistry and turned in great performance. Some very clever editing and charmingly self aware. I found the last monologue quite sincere and it left me thinking about relationships. Classic. 4/4

This is likely the most beautiful movie I have ever seen. Yet it is quite tedious and reflective. I think I will appreciate it a lot more when I am older. 2.5/4

Southpaw (2015)
TStechnij replied to Ezen Baklattan's topic in Review That Movie! (Spoilers Allowed)
I hated this. Ugly directing, poor pacing, emotionally manipulative and thoroughly unappealing. Gyllenhaal "saved" it as only Gyllenhaal could. The first scene was really great about establishing tension, but somehow that was the most tense part of the film. I don't even hate the genre. In fact, Raging Bull is my all time favorite film. Whatever. 1.5/4 D
