  1. Objectively, it was a hit. Rings of Power was the 15th most consumed original series in the U.S. last year, and second from Amazon (behind The Boys, counting all of seasons). It beat all Disney+ originals.
  2. I think this has potential. Game Night was awesome. Trailers are pretty good. Chris Pine and especially Michelle Rodriguez are somewhat popular internationally. Audiences haven't had a successful comedic blockbuster since how many months now that Quantumania disappointed everyone and Shazam 2 is likely to bomb? I wouldn't be surprised if it's great and gets praised by critics, which could ignite some decent buzz.
  3. Saw it on Monday and couldn't identify exactly what would make audiences reject it because it felt like an average MCU movie. It's not like Eternals, which we can understand the reception because it was more ambitious and tried something a bit different. Quantumania is a little more serious than the typical MCU movie, but it's not that extremely serious. That's why I'm starting to consider that the thought of a superhero fatigue may not be an exaggeration after all.
  4. I'm glad Cocaine Bear overperformed. Elizabeth Banks is an underrated director, Pitch Perfect 2 and Charlie's Angels were much better than what reviews indicated.
  5. The only options for me here are in 3D (I live in Brazil). How good can this conversion even be considering they're not advertising the 3D version? This is so stupid.
  6. WB would never dump this if it was a great movie. But let's wait and see if they are really dumping it, maybe marketing will pick up closer to release.
  7. I found the first Aquaman to be awful thanks to the terrible script, so I'm not surprised if this one is bad too. Also my favorite thing about the first movie is rumored to only be in 20 minutes of the sequel, so...
  8. At least people like this stand by their opinion. I have no respect for people who conveniently only like critically acclaimed movies, it doesn't feel genuine to me.
  9. I hope I'll be able to avoid the spoilers until the opening. Some troll spoiled who was the killer of Scream 4 for me before I watched it.
  10. Looks very interesting story-wise, but really horrible visually. And it’s not exactly the CGI, there’s something seriously off with the whole cinematography. It looked like that since that first DC Fandome preview, and I was hoping it would be more polished. Sad that this movie was meant to come out in 2018, before Avengers Endgame and Spider-Man No Way Home took the novelty of its premise.
  11. Audience reception wasn't as enthusiastic as critics. The movie was kinda overhyped. But it wasn't bad at all.
  12. The movie sounds at least a very interesting watch, La La Land is my one of my favorite movies and I love Margot Robbie, so it's sad that Damien Chazelle cast Brad Pitt in this and I'll never watch
  13. These movies were already produced and paid for, but Zaslav doesn't believe in the former strategy for them, which consisted on these movies being part of a robust original content offering that was meant to convince people to subscribe or remain subscribed to their streaming service. So he is sending these movies to theaters with minimum extra cost to get whatever few millions they can make in ticket sales. Zaslav probably prefers the $9 million House Party made at the box office than whatever long term value it would bring to HBO Max.
  14. The projection for Knock at the Cabin is very disappointing considering how well Old did in 2021 for that period when similar movies were opening under $10 million. Something went wrong here. Maybe the marketing or maybe because of the gay couple. I hope it at least becomes one of those movies that get good legs despite the low cinemascore. I understand it will be divisive but it's still a very entertaining film in my opinion.
  15. Fucking hell. I hope my screening of Titanic isn’t full of noisy, disrespectful people.
  16. I really loved this, might be my new favorite Shyamalan film. It’s great in basically every aspect.
  17. Most fans have moved on, and his haters are the ones who now sound obsessed. They are the only ones in this forum bringing Snyder back into the conversation surrounding the new DCU. The release of the Snyder Cut and its positive reception from critics and audiences should be seen as a perfect closure for everyone, I see no reason for bitterness from any side - fans got to see the film, and haters still had Snyder gone from DC.
  18. I think The Flash will set a new timeline, and in that timeline some heroes will be played by new actors (Superman) and others by the same (Aquaman). They could have reworked Aquaman 2 to be set in this new timeline, and the franchise could continue from there.
  19. Looking at how Spider-man Homecoming and The Batman did at the box office despite universal acclaim I hope WBD executives don't panic if this yet another Superman reboot don't do Man Of Steel's numbers either. The DC franchise won't survive more course corrections. If they believed in Gunn's vision I hope they stick with it unless it actually bombs and loses them money.
