With a multipler like Inglourious Basterds (x4,1) it'll get to close to 3,6M; a multipler like Django and it reaches 4M+. So it should aim 3,5M to become Tarantinos 2nd biggest movie behind Django Unchained (4,3M). TLK is 2nd again and is the first movie since SW7 in 2015 to get past 8M. After being behind 1,75M in its 3rd WE (due to christmas holidays) it is 1,17M now. 10M still isn't safe. Next weeks drop may determine it. Hobbs&Shaw will try to pass Fast5 (2,52M) to become the 5th biggest of the series. Even though Pets2 held better than its predecessor the gap widened to 570k. It'll get to more than 2,5M; not too bad compared to other countries. It may fail to reach TS2 (4,53M) though. Still, close to 4,5M is a great result. SM:FFH is still trying to reach GOTG2 (3,23M) and could still get there to reach around 3,25M which would be the 8th biggest MCU movie and the 3rd biggest MCU solo behind BP (3,69M) and CM (3,37M). 2. I know about that, numbers are just western Germany for 50s to 80s. It was just to compare the 80s to today. I found some of the DDR numbers. Though sadly only some mentioned in articles and no full statistics... year / BRD / DDR / whole Germany 1988 / 108,9M / ~70M / ~178,9M 1989 / 101,2M / 65M / 166,2M So if 120M in 1991 is the number for united Germany than it'd be quite a big drop that is probably mostly due to much lower numbers in the east (much higher TP in united Germany, depressed market...). Maybe the growing numbers in late 90s and early 00s are partly eastern German recovery? Though that would probably just be 10M more or something like that. But I think it's quite interesting that 2001 is around as big as 1988 accounting for whole Germany.
  3. The thing is, in the 80s it's just the western German numbers and the 90s had some economical problems. Being that bad now while economy is quite good is even worse. (Btw. does anybody know since when it's the united German numbers? 1989 [101,2M], 1990 [102,5M], 1991 [120M], 1992 [105,9M] I would suspect that it's since 1991 but I really don't know... Finding numbers for the eastern Germany isn't easy)
  4. On a serious note: Being good doesn't prevent a movie from being big in Germany (LOTR ). But it just doesn't really seem to help either... There's really much crap doing good numbers here (After one of only14 movies to have more than 1M admissions yet ). But I really wonder what sort of movie could make people want to watch it massively. 5. I have great hope that IT2 may at least come close to 3M again... Other than that it's probably just F2 and SW9 to get there, as you say. TS4 would be just laughable if it wasn't that sad. This franchise has really no appeal to Germans. I wonder what they would have to do in order to make it appealing.
  6. And this is why I'd say that Portugal is even more impressive: the french market can potentially do better. Still, it's just huge! It would be just the 25th to have more than 10M...

  12. I realized that TLK in Germany finally passed the french OWeek after 3 weeks in release (3,44M vs. 3,25M). So around 21 days equal 7... The german result is disappointing, though just in context of the european overperformance. Just seeing Germany it's doing great actually as it already became the biggest of the remakes after a 900k+ week (I thought it'd do just 4M). I hope it has enough left to pass AEG at least to come close to €49M/$55M, which would at least in € be close to TLK94 (€55,68M).
  13. It's crazy to think about it, but 10M is really looking good. France is one of the craziest countries for that movie... So Thursday is a holiday apparantly. TLK should have a good hold and should be around 8,4M already - it could approach 8,5M+. So it'll get to $75M to $80M. Just crazy high...

It's easily the biggest 2nd of the year passing A:EG (1,51M/4,86M cume) and the biggest since SW7 (1,97M/5,77M). The total is more than 5M already which is bigger than any of the remakes and (according to InsideKino) TLK is just the 6th movie to have more than 5M in 12 days (only the 2nd non french movie after SW7). OD OW OWeek Total Multipler TLK 0,630 2,559 3,253 8,500 x3,32 Alice 0,252 1,418 1,600 4,537 x3,20 TJB 0,278 1,090 1,303 3,720 x3,41 BATB 0,269 1,143 1,282 3,568 x3,12 Aladdin 0,078 0,471 0,563 2,500 x5,31 Dumbo 0,085 0,470 0,551 2,400 x5,11 Maleficent 0,086 0,548 0,628 2,047 x3,74 Cinderella 0,086 0,573 0,636 1,722 x3,01 OZ 0,124 0,633 0,788 1,590 x2,51 MP 0,044 0,293 0,390 1,535 x5,24 Nutcracker 0,049 0,229 0,255 0,802 x3,50 It didn't take long to get to the top of the list, now it'll try to be twice the 2nd. TLK should (at least) be close to 6,5M next WE. 8,5M+ ($65M) is safe and 9M ($70M) a good possibility. TS4 was a good 2nd increasing over last week. OD OW OWeek Total Multipler Toy Story 1 0,100 0,444 0,497 2,760 x6,22 Toy Story 2 0,145 0,747 0,927 4,530 x6,06 Toy Story 3 0,390 1,057 1,277 4,363 x4,13 Toy Story 4 0,306 1,100 1,506 4,600 x4,18 I think it'll become the biggest of the series at 4,6M+. In third position SM:FFH secured itself a 3M+ finish with a small drop. It'll be just the 9th MCU movie to get there and the 3rd of 2019 (behind A:EG 6,81M and CM 3,37M). It passed its predecessor SM:H (2,31M) last week. At the moment it's just slightly behind CM (192k/-38%/2,68M) and could pass Marvels first female SH-Solo. With a few more good drops it will get to 3,25M. Aladdin passed Dumbo (again ) and still had 27k. After all it could get to 2,5M. http://www.insidekino.com/BO/F2019.htm http://www.jpbox-office.com/classfr.php?idsem=2587
  21. I hope OUaTiH can do even a bit better than this. Not much more to expect from the rest of those probably...
  22. This whole discussion is an issue for its own Thread (at least where it leads away from why movies about Nazis did well in Germany). But I want to add some things nonetheless... The following probably has nothing to do with BO so... Als Hitler das rosa Kaninchen stahl (When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit) will probably be another sign of how movies about Nazis do in Germany when it comes out in Dezember.
  23. SW9 is probably the only contender that could top it (SW7 10,31M, SW8 7,08M). But as things develop I start to think TLK becomes to big to be passed... 8,5M+ and $65M+ seem realistic.
  24. There's a long story of me underestimating TLK Long story short: $40,1M which should mean around 5,2M+ admissions (ifI don't underestimate it again...). And -32%, what Deadline reports, would mean 1,74M 2nd WE and around 5M. Just huge...
  25. From Mimorin it seems that it dropped a bit above 30% Sat and Sun; so probably around that for the WE too. If that comes true at last it'd have a better drop than the WE before. According to InsideKino it was -2%, -9%, -12%, -20%, -30%, -41% (and now probably around -32%).
