Aquaman &The Lost Kingdom | $294.6M OS | $412.7M WW
Blaze Heatnix replied to Issac Newton's topic in International Box Office
If it makes 100 million domestic and at least 200 million overseas, it'll be at 300 million worldwide or a bit more if it has ok legs. -
Even though I enjoyed this movie, I agree with the ending part of the consensus. This movie played insanely safe in every department. It's very clear the crew was afraid of taking any kind of risk. However, it was still much better than what I thought it would be. It's better than a lot of movies I've watched lately. I'm actually surprised. James Wan really has talent and the crew really did what they could.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)
Blaze Heatnix replied to Eric Duncan's topic in Review That Movie! (Spoilers Allowed)
I don't know if I went to see it with insanely low expectations, but I really enjoyed this movie. Really good and fun flick. It moved fast and it wasn't long. The action scenes and visuals were great. This is miles, miles better than Flash, Shazam 2, Blue Beetle. Miles. Definitely not a bad movie, imo. I was surprised about how safe it was. Movie played safe and never left that zone. Happy ending, only the villain dies. No, the baby doesn't die. 8.0 / 10 -
Directors have highs and lows. Yes, a movie can be bad because of its director. Studios also have their part regarding how bad movies can be, but it's beyond impossible exonerating a director and putting the blame on studios. I mean, just look at Martin Brest. Guy went from Beverly Hillls Cop / Midnight Run / Scent of a Woman to freaking Gigli ( 2003 ) and then vanished! Why is Gigli so freaking bad? Is it because of evil studios that only want money or is the director part of the failure? Just come on, people. Wan is a great director, but if Aquaman 2 is a bad movie, he definitely has a part in it.

Wan said he wants back to horror. 2 days later, we got news about Saw 11. Timing is odd. That being said, what's the problem with Aquaman 2? Is the movie Fant4stic levels of bad? The trailer seems to be more of the same that we got in the first Aquaman. Unless of course, baby is getting killed, which would be a big NO for a movie like this during Christmas. lol

The Box Office Buzz, Tracking, and Pre-Sale Thread
Blaze Heatnix replied to Shawn Robbins's topic in Box Office Discussion
So, how bad are Aquaman's sales? I'm curious. Any good news for this movie? -
I agree. This is also the first Deadpool movie under MCU's / Disney's reign. It's also the first R rated MCU movie. It has a ton of things riding for it and even against it. If it flops or makes less than the previous movies, then things will be very dark for next months at MCU's headquarters. Deadpool 1 and 2 made almost 800 million worldwide. This new one is obviously much more expensive than the previous ones. Anything under 700 million worldwide is gonna be disaster territory. This one has Wolverine in it and a lot of characters. I still can't believe Disney allowed Deadpool to be R rated. I'll believe it when I see it. Somehow I have bad feelings about behind the scenes issues that eventually will get revealed after the movie's release. I really hope Disney / MCU allowed Ryan Reynolds to do the things he wanted to do with the character, without trying to force things to be "cut" or deleted. This thing needs to be hardcore.

Oh, don't worry, folks. I'm pretty sure this movie is gonna be fun, right? Fun. We'll be hearing this word for a while. Pretty sure we'll be having fun while we see countless articles about how it's one of the biggest flops this year. Anyway, I'm actually curious about this movie. The visuals and effects at least look cool and nice. Hopefully the fight scenes are also cool.
