  1. I actually agree that the Snyder Cut was probably the perfect way to end this universe, for oh so many reasons. Finally seeing the full unaltered vision for this universe of the guy who started it all really should have wrapped up this universe. There were so many movies to like, enjoy or even love in this universe, it’s crazy how so many people mistake controversial for hated. Or rather, many movies were hated by many but also loved by many, but I guess it’s easier to focus on the hate. A lot of genuinely good CBMs that came out from this universe also get buried by being connected to this very controversial universe, which is a pity. None of Wonder Woman, Aquaman 1, The Suicide Squad, Shazam 1 and Blue Beetle have any reasons to be hated beyond being connected to the rest. Even the most controversial ones have lots of people who really really enjoy them. In the end, a lot of bad decisions just buried the good with the bad. RIP
  2. You’re really paranoid sometimes. I am disappointed with the reactions, but still hoping I’ll have fun with it this weekend.
  3. When talking about the lack of actors doing press stuff for this, I think it’s a good idea to keep in mind the Amber Heard situation, as well as the end of the DCU situation. Definitely awkward topics to come up in an interview. Maybe that’s the reason why all I have seen from them promoting it so far is stuff where they could stay more in control of what was being said, like the SNL hosting, the puppies skit, etc
  4. This is going to be an exciting Christmas run to follow if the numbers continue like this.
  5. Since when do we care about what people outside of the BO world say? They really shouldn't be taken seriously enough to analyze their position in any serious way. It's like a toddler talking about adult matters, they really don't understand the nuances of it. It's somewhere in the Buzz thread iirc
  6. Anything over 39M would be an awesome win for me, so let's hope Warner is right.
  7. I'm honestly easy to please when it comes to blockbusters, but the subpar CGI coupled with Ezra's punchable face distracted me way too often throughout the movie. I think it's actually the first time bad CGI in a blockbuster took me out of it, I'm usually very forgiving. It's hard for me to be objective about the story itself, although I suppose it mostly worked, but I'll say the very ending was a bit mid. Even if the CGI was great and Ezra wasn't an asshole, I'm not sure how much more praise it would be getting.
  8. I love how people take these deriding sentences that we all had to hear over and over again for years between the first and second Avatar to lift it up now. I am not even a big Avatar fan, but it was very satisfying to see it go so big despite how so many people kept repeating that it had left no cultural inprint.
  9. Some musical sequences were much better than I thought anything to do with music would be in this movie. Very happily surprised about that.
  10. It does feel like it ought to at least cross 15M if it wants to continue marching towards 40M. From 15M I would be expecting 10-11M Sunday, hopefully putting it just over 40M.
  11. Wonka was incredibly sweet, as any Paddington fan should expect. In fact there’s a song/sequence about sweet tooth that I can’t wait to watch again. Truly magical. I’m very happy I was able to watch it and very happy it’s doing well.
  12. Oh man, all my 300M club needs is for Charlie to be right on his upper prediction? I’m liking my chances. Also, I was able to get a chance to see Wonka tonight, I can’t wait! Hopefully it’s as good as people are saying.
  13. Get it to just over 10.5 and I can see a path to 40m OW… Get it to 40m OW and I can see a path to 300M… Probably I hope for too much, but let’s see what happens.
  14. This looked interesting, but the trailer feels rather spoilary.
  15. I’m just going by the WOM out of Europe and out of a couple of my friends who have seen it over here and loved it.
  16. Yeah, not sure why anyone should be disappointed, it’s pretty expected and hopefully good WOM can get it to a great Christmas multi.
  17. Holy crap, it's like clockwork these days, our trackers can do no wrong! They've all literally nailed down the 3.5m range, and guess what? They're bloody right, as usual! Well done everyone, well done.
  18. Oh yeah, I forgot about the verified audience scores being more recent. The OS ratio for Paddington is very understandable, it's incredibly British and has never really crossed the atlantic. This IP is much more well known in America though obviously, so it should do a lot better than just 20ish % of the gross. We will see soon enough though.
  19. Wildly different sort of movies and situations, but HG:BOSS has 89% and it did get a B cinemascore and yet had great WOM and a good multi from OW despite everyone thinking it was going to be frontloaded due to fan rushing, so I'm trying to keep that in mind when it comes to audience scores. With that said, I did think it would start off with a little more, but then again Paddington of all things "only" has 80% audience score and Paddington 2 also has 88%. And then there is The Greatest Showman at 86%. There's also the surprise musical thing that has just been pointed out above. So I guess what I'm saying is that ehh, seems fine.
  20. Ohh this looks adorable indeed, so much potential! I’m liking what I’m seeing from Ryan in the trailer, a lot! The Pixar live-action description feels very apt. I hope it’s as good as it looks.
  21. If it can get close to 40M OW, or just over it, I truly believe that it can get to just over 300M, and it wouldn't contradict any realistic comps or analysis, as a bit over 7x legs for this time of the year is perfectly doable with great WOM, so let's be optimistic! Either way, I think anywhere over 200M would be a fantastic number, specially considering how well it is already doing OS.
