yes and social media and forums are accessed by computers and cell phones so they get in touch with WOM. On RT, Audience Score is WOM. On IMDB, User Ratings and Reviews are WOM. The point that @Jessie is making and I agree with is that WOM >>>> critical acclaim as you can see in cases of TLJ (critical circle jerk but bad legs due to mixed WOM) and Venom/BR (critical trashing/mehness was ignored and the movies are beasts because audience loves them and spreads the word). IMO, it's too early to tell which way Widows will go but just for the record, a friend txt'd me yesterday with "don't see Widows, too LOOOONG and boring, nobody to root for". I didn't bring it up cause I thought he was the only one but now that people point out at least an early discrepancy between critical/festival gushing and social media/IMDB negativity, I'm posting this anecdote. We'll see. Like all movies, it has pros and cons and, IMO, bigger con is too many adult skewing movies surrounding it that already have a built-in audience (BR, FB, Creed 2) or will keep chugging along due to major awards push (ASIB).

this is a boxoffice forum so people are trying to predict boxoffice, and WOM is a better indicator than critics. so since critics say it's a crowd pleaser while social media and IMDB so far say it's too long and boring, one has to take both in consideration when making predictions.

It isn't what the hell. it's true. they just won't give it to big movies. they'll rather keep that dumb consolation award that everyone shat on in order to avoid awarding populist movies even if such movies had as great critical reception as small ones. And in BP case even the all important timeliness and political relevance. Still not enough.

OH FFS! THIS YEAR GAVE 2 CRITICAL HITS THAT ARE HUGE POPULIST HITS TOO, BP AND ASIB, AND OF COURSE THAT AMPAS IS GOING TO AWARD ANOTHER MOVIE THAT NOBODY'S GONNA SEE BEFORE AND AFTER THE WIN. SERIOUSLY. BIG MOVIES FINALLY HAVE A WINNING NARRATIVE AND AMPAS KEEPS FUCKIN UP.

FB skews more adult than HP.

We will never know how Beyonce would turn out but big chance that she wouldn't be Queen Bey cause the character is nothing like that. She would play a character without her usual sass if she was written without it. her other roles were tailored for her stage persona, so she couldn't show if she had range.

I know it's embarrassing but I wasn't very familiar with Queen music except some classics that I didn't even know were all Queen. so now I'm doing homework and listen to their music. yep, slay. Amazing. Epic. Whatever people think of the movie, it's introducing new generation to their music and that's a great thing.

This. Whether they like to admit or not, the future of blockbusters are developing markets. the more your movie costs, the more you need those growing markets.

HP has always been more fan driven dom thna some other big franchises that attracted casuals. For example, even at the height of hype (first movie, last movie), HP couldn't hit 400M which THG achieved twice back to back with relative ease. However, OS is a different story and that's where HP lorded over franchises that were bigger dom. So the real story will be OS as usual, whether due to increase or unexpected decrease.

I'm glad that our projected BR slayage came true. That first image of Rami did it but trailer sealed the deal. This may be the most literal Yass QUEEN Slay ever in history.

Yeah, I'm super interested in OS performance cause HP has always been OS thing more than dom thing. Fingers crossed for good increases.

It's a big bomb so no wonder they have to hype decent run in only 1 market out of 46 (includes dom). Like "#1 Family Movie" ad cause they couldn't say #1 movie. Oh Disney.
