  1. I predict this moves up 1 week to December 6. Gives it a little breathing room before the holiday juggernauts kick in (like Krampus in 2015, or Incarnate in 2016, or even The Possession of Hannah Grace on November 30 last year).
  2. I grew up with the original Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Incredibles (born in 1988). Take it from me, Toy Story was the biggest thing that came from Pixar. Incredibles 2 was so big last year because it tied in perfectly with today's superhero fad. Not saying that's the ONLY reason, but it was a perfect storm.
  3. Put it this way, you and the other Cameron fans have put a lot more effort into this subject than anyone else. Put on a meh face if you want. Y'all hate what's going on with Endgame.
  4. Watched it last week. It's very good. When a movie or TV series is invoking strong emotions in you, you know it's well written and acted and oh boy did this show make me HATE some of the characters, especially Dyatlov.
  5. That's what you think, but nothing can truly stop evil emperor Darth Iger!!
  6. Nah. If EG made its last dollar today I'd be more than satisfied. I'd be surprised because admittedly at first I didn't think EG would be this frontloaded and I predicted it to pass Avatar worldwide with relative ease, but I'd still be satisfied.
  7. Exactly. This forum will be so much fan when EG takes the record. @IronJimbo and @Pure Spirit among others are going to have a complete meltdown.
  8. Let me guess: your Rise of Skywalker theory is the evil laugh we hear at the end of the teaser is really Bob Iger.
  9. It's weird that I want to see Shaft over this, if I had to pick one at that (ie. I could easily pass on both). From the beginning I just did not need this movie, and this is coming from someone who is pretty damn forgiving of and open sequels and movies in general. My response to this movie from my first knowledge of its existence up until its release is a big fat yawn. Not surprised it's not doing well. Not many people were up for another one of these. Bring in more original movies!
  10. WW1984 will be just fine. It doesn't have to open before Black Widow of all movies to win. This kind of thinking is what got WB in to trouble in the first place with the DC property. Obsessing over the competition.
  11. I read the blurbs on RT and the entirety of a few of the reviews and I see what you mean @Firepower. So much virtue signalling and I got a sense of "It's 2019 now so this movie is totally beneath me". I mean, if the movie's bed then the movie's bad. I don't really care. It's just funny to see so many people take exception to the jabs here and there the film apparently makes toward contemporary PC culture.
  12. Can't see that, but what do I know? I haven't been tracking. In fact, I'm just returning after taking a bit of a break from box office. Is this a real possibility?
  13. I guess that's what happens when the movie is still 2 and a half years away. EDIT: Woops, thought I was in the Avatar 2 thread.
  14. Been taking a break from box office for a bit but had to comment on some of these weekend numbers. I'm dumbfounded. Dark Phoenix doesn't surprise me in the least, but Pets 2? I know people here love to hate Illumination but let's be real here: that's an insanely bad drop on opening weekend from the 1st. Clearly audiences were more than content with a stand alone there. And King of the Monsters? I didn't agree with some of the higher end predictions here but I'm surprised it went this low. The second weekend drop for this franchise is actually not surprising. It's the total number on opening weekend which led to such a small 2nd weekend number already that gets me. It may not have lived up to expectations but it deserves better numbers than this. It's a true summer popcorn movie. Meanwhile, Aladdin continues to absolutely slay. It's the lone positive surprise at the box office right now. Again, Disney wins. I don't mean that as a studio wars kind of statement, it's just the truth. It's getting to the point where it feels like audiences collectively decided Disney is where they're going to put their faith and entertainment dollars and that's that, all other movies be damned.
  15. I'm speechless at SLOP2. I mean, could the OW have dropped a bit from the original? For sure, nothing to see there. But this? This drop is shocking. Minions 2 is likely going to be embarrassing next year too so Illumination has got to get together and think up a new strategy here because they're plummeting fast.
  16. I'll say this: whenever I pop by this thread or the Avatar 2 thread, I realize that Cameron fans are more obsessed with Endgame not breaking Avatar's record than other people are with breaking it.
  17. The untitled Pixar film for June 19. 2020 still hasn't been announced. Anyone think Onward will end up moving there?
  18. Screw it. I'm randomly going to go see a 10:20 showing of Aladdin. I can't wait anymore and plus I have so many movies to see I may as well save some money and go on cheap day. Will share my thoughts on the other side!
  19. Looking forward to this more and more every day! It'll be tough to top Bohemian Rhapsody but who knows?
