  1. It played up the adventure and "epic" vibe as opposed to a comedic elements or gags that are usually the main focus of trailers for animated films.
  2. 1. Avengers: Endgame 2. Jojo Rabbit 3. Detective Pikachu 4. Frozen 2 5. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 6. John Wick: Chapter 3 7. Star Wars: Episode IX 8. Shazam! 9. Spider-Man: Far From Home 10. Brightburn
  3. Not even for the milking of existing universes it was drive to boost up Disney+. I doubt any franchises continue under Disney other than Avatar and Deadpool (X-Men and Fantastic Four don't count being folded into the MCU).
  4. I don't agree GOTG Vol 2's gross was disappointing but it was surprising that Thor: Ragnarok beat it pretty easily OS.
  5. https://comicbook.com/marvel/2019/03/20/guardians-of-the-galaxy-3-production-start-date/ According to a new listing from Production Weekly, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will begin production in February 2021 under the working title of "Hot Christmas," as previously reported. While it's still nearly two years away, the 2021 date is likely the earliest Marvel Studios wanted to film the video for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, Gunn is still attached to Warner Brothers' The Suicide Squad, a movie that's not released until August 2021. With this production date, it's likely Gunn would wrap on his DCEU film before heading to Pinewood Studios in Atlanta to film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 — he'd then likely wrap Guardians before returning for the Suicide Squad press tour in the later Summer 2021 months.
  6. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/elizabeth-gablers-fox-2000-shutter-disney-reorganization-1196298 Things can change but it's more likely they keep Searchlight than shutter it. Think Disney wants to get back into the prestige business.
  7. Yeah I just remember estimates kept getting lower and lower during the weekend. What a depressing thread to go back and read. We've had a couple already 😉
  8. Not too surprisingly unfortunately. Disney isn't in the mid budget movie business which is why I still think they'll probably keep Searchlight cause that's more for indies. Hopefully they somehow just do "FOX 2000" type films under the main 20th Century Fox banner but that seems unlikely.
  9. Admittedly TLJ did fall more than I thought it would from TFA. But pls let Episode IX not belong on this list.....
  10. I have one last question. Last time I talked to you, I asked about Disney+ and at that point it had just been announced and you were like, “Yeah, we’re talking with them.” And now there’s been some announcements, but I’m wondering are you going to be using a Star Wars expanded universe [approach], like are these going to be prequels or how are they going to fit into the MCU? Well, obviously I don’t want to get too specific. We’ve announced the Loki series and Tom Hiddleston’s involvement. But it will be MCU proper. Sometimes it will take place as Captain Marvel did in a time before current events, sometimes it will take place during. What I will say, whatever happens in those, in those shows and with characters that have been in the films, they’ll undergo transformations – not Loki necessarily – but will undergo transformations in their series and those transformations will be reflected in their next film appearances. Because we’ve been developing long form narrative stories for Disney+ at the exact same time that we’ve been developing a post-Endgame MCU, we’ve been able to do something we’ve never done before, which is interweave them from the start, from the plant. So it’s pretty exciting to be 10 plus years into the MCU and have an entirely new outlet to tell stories with new characters, with existing characters. And the way we like to do nineties action movie, political thrillers, heist movies, you hear us talk about this all the time, and now we get to do play with a medium even more in a multi-episode arc, which we’re excited about. Well I guess Marvel is finally going to connect tv shows and movies.....just only the ones that are under the Marvel Studios brand.
  11. Hey look the IPL is on that banner @Premium George
  12. I totally forgot this was coming out this year. Looks good!
  13. Disney has been on board with Avatar way before it became the highest grossing film of all time. Supposedly Disney was in line to get the distribution rights to Avatar had Fox decided to back out.
  14. It really depends on how much you weigh each region's influence towards determining how much of an event a film was Worldwide. I think Infinity War (and Endgame) has more hype spread out but TFA had much more concentrated hype in certain regions. It's a tad disappointing to me as a Star Wars fan that Episode IX has little to no chance of belonging on this list considering it's supposed to be the finale of the Skywalker Saga.
  15. Obviously as an MCU fan wanting Endgame to beat Avatar Frozen 2 making $1.5 Billion+ would be amazing
  16. Late 2020 could I guess be feasible but you run into the danger of rushing the sequel. March 2021 would be good release date for Shazam 2.
  17. Decent trailer actually and usually Pixar trailer underwhelm. I like some of the themes they bring up with the Forky character but I hope the actual character isn't as grating as I found him to be in the trailer. EDIT: Oh and it was a nice touch having Tin Toy as part of the lost toys that Bo Peep has seemingly saved
