  1. I've never met James but I know a number of people in Wan's social circle and I've heard he's worried about MALIGNANT's reception. Burying the movie a little bit so that it doesn't negatively affect future movies might be his call.
  2. There's a big one-take action scene in a police station that surely wasn't cheap, and the killer's lair is giant from a production design standpoint (it's the bit in the trailer with the giant fan). I could believe this cost $50-60M.
  3. I'm curious to see the changes for that reason - when I say people laughed, I'm not exaggerating. The final confrontation of the movie played like ANCHORMAN to the crowd, and I heard the same thing happened at another screening. But that was also over a year ago and movies change. We'll see. I'm looking forward to the discussion about it because there are some shall we say bold story decisions.
  4. I know multiple people who saw MALIGNANT and I ended up seeing it myself. It's not impossible that we're all wrong but it's a wider sample size for me than CANDYMAN.
  5. I've been hearing better things about it over the last couple of days. Know a horror writer who loved it.
  6. I've heard really mixed reactions but chose not to post them because the people who told me are untrustworthy dummies Glad you're posting the good stuff, Krissy. I'm seeing it on Tuesday and can't wait.
  7. Where did someone post details? I'm trying to verify. The trouble is so much leaked from the Irvine screening that someone could easily mix in BS with real spoilers that are out there.
  8. Sure, that's the whole point of test screenings, especially if there's six weeks between previews.
  9. Pretty certain the trailer is hitting with HALLOWEEN KILLS and will be attached to JACKASS FOREVER.
  10. I don't know for sure but I do know something screened in Chicago yesterday and WB always used to test Potterverse movies in Chicago.
  11. They canceled the test screenings Thursday, which is why I don’t generally announce screenings before they happen!
  12. Credence has long black hair. Queenie’s hair is platinum blonde. Grindelwald looks like Hannibal Lecter Mads Mikkelsen with gray/silver hair. You guys were dying to know about the hair situation right??
  13. Last time - and they're doing the same thing on Thursday night - they had two test screenings on the same day, one for "A brand new Matrix film" and one for "Untitled Action Movie," so they can compare reactions of people/fans who know what it is going in and those who don't.
  14. Do you believe people when they say they can’t be racist because they have lots of black friends too?
  15. It is petty, and if I can ruin her day after she's ruined days for a number of my trans friends, I'm happy to do it.
  16. This. Not that Rowling will ever see that post, but if she does, she'll know what it means.
  17. Hard to say. Obviously most people who see it won’t be familiar with giallo but I know it was heavily jeered during more than one screening on the WB lot.
  18. Alternatively, I saw BLACK WIDOW in Dolby Cinema at the AMC Burbank 16, the most popular theater in America. I then watched it at home with my significant other on my CX, and it looked better at home.
  19. I'm really busy over the next couple days and was thinking I might save this for Disney+ Premier Access, but the more positive reactions in this thread are guaranteeing I sit my butt down in a theater.
