Said it before and I’ll say it again. This movie I’ll open sub $200M and won’t touch the billion worldwide. -

$200M is not happening for SW neither is the billion. -
That’s awful a six month delay on a movie that’s 3 months out and already has 2 trailers out just fuck ups the marketing campaign and ballon the budgets thus creating unrealistic box office expectations. Disney doesn’t know what to do with this middle of the road rated r franchise so they’re sabotaging it.

JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW
Manny G replied to Corpse's topic in International Box Office
I mean it’s not as if they released I 2 week after, that’s they had 1 month between them. The studio couldn’t predict how strong Joker would be, especially considering how unpredictable Japan is. 1 month should be more than enough between 2 tentpoles.- 23,655 replies

Are you being Sarcastic ? The so called Steep drop was always expected as Maleficent was fierce competition that did $153M globally in many markets. But a $100M+ global weekend For Joker on its third weekend is massive, especially when the movie is standing at a whooping 737M. For example Alldin in its 3rd weekend was standing at $630M after a $90M global third weekend. -

Manny G replied to Olive's topic in China At The Box Office
Damn why are they opening on the same Weeknd? I feel like Angelina Jolie and Will Smith are named than could carry a movie to a $40M-$50M opening In China, but now they’ll hurt each other. -

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil | October 18 2019 | Now on Disney+
Manny G replied to CJohn's topic in Box Office Discussion
Well Disney did it, 4 live actions entries, 3 remakes 1 sequel, all panned. I know they they’ve been successful at the B.O. but this is not a good long term strategy the bottom will eventually fall. We already saw the less sexier names struggle (Dumbo, MPR, Christopher Robbins) next step will be the sequels being DOA. -
No they’re not.

JOKER 7:00 PM Thursday screenings Was running “late” so I may have missed a few”. Gemini man: no reactions at all Dr Sleep: 1st trailer ( light chatters at the end and one “it’s so scary“ when that shinning theme comes in ) 1917: no reactions Birds of Prey: one loud “I love her” during trailer. chatters after, with a group of young I assume college aged girls being quite excited. and that’s it’s also when it came to the movie my audience was very responsive many laughs at the dark humor, many many gasps throughout, and about 40 ish percent of the theater clapped at the end.
