Undermine Joker's triumph? Lol. No point is, Joker is not some groundbreaking superhero movie. It's not offering anything new or different. Logan did dark and serious without this level of blatant awards season campaigning. But I understand why you feel the need to prop Joker. Dismissing your silly argument is not tantamount to saying a movie is better or more important than another. But going by your logic, I can now laugh at all the fanboys who fawn over Hans Zimmer and claim that he should have multiple Oscars.

Uhh, we don't know that non MCU fans won't be there. From what I've seen, I think it's safe to say many of them loved the movie and would pay to watch a sequel. Now 200/700 still won't be easy to match but if they actually did include Storm and Namor or another popular villain in this movie, who knows how high the numbers could go. The hype would be through the roof, for sure.

Well to be frank, at least half of MCU fans were bitter over the recognition BP received, as they thought IW was more deserving (lol). They were not as pretentious as I imagine DC fans are but Joker is still a long way away from winning big awards. An Oscar nom is certainly not a lock outside of JP in lead actor, perhaps.

Black Panther butchers blockbuster filmmaking? Lol The only valid criticism I've heard and the only thing the haters like to harp on is the CGI in the final battle. There's much more to this movie and blockbuster filmmaking than that. And nah, I don't need any movie to start a deep, intellectual conversation. Smarter to me simply means a more thoughtful narrative, one that delves deeper into its characters and their motivations.

Superhero movies don't have to smart but it's not at all pretentious to point out when one has more to say and is smart about saying it. Aquaman is enjoyable for what it is but the characters, the dialogue, the script as a whole, are all subpar, at best. I don't think it's as good a movie as Black Panther... absolutely not.

Lmao at Black Panther having a dumber story than Aquaman. What a joke. That relative you mention may have never been to the hidden kingdom but he had a father who taught him all about Wakanda. And T'Challa may have trained all his life but we know Killmonger was also a highly skilled soldier who spent most of his life training to get the chance to exact revenge on those who killed his father. In any case, these are nitpicks as far as I'm concerned. That Black Panther managed to cover some heavy, real-world issues in a nuanced way while also being an entertaining blockbuster is far more impressive than anything about Aquaman and likely Joker for that matter.

I'm just reading some of the reviews for Joker and it's wild to see critics actually praising it for making a homicidal maniac sympathetic. Lmao. Definitely the new Fight Club. The Joker will always work best when we don't know why he does what he does. That's what makes him one of the best, most compelling villains in existence. This is why Heath's Joker remains superior.

Why not? 🤔 -
Yes, but if the movie starts filming in January and ends up with that July 2021 release date, I would think they'd want to acknowledge the movie now, as it may very well be out by the time the next expo is set. I'm sure we'll know more in the coming months but that they completely ignored it at this D23 points to some uncertainty to me.
-
Lol Did you actually read my posts? I have zero issues with lack of casting. I just said in my last post that we don't need a full casting announcement right now. If shooting starts in January, that's 5 months from now, which is pretty soon. Why wouldn't they acknowledge the movie at D23, as they have done with every other live action movie?

I'm sorry, did I say Harry was the end all be all?? Did I say Marshall didn't have enough time to cast?? Point is, if the movie were set to film in January 2020, why did they completely ignore it at D23? That was the perfect time opportunity to make an official announcement about the film, its production and release date. At the very least, no announcement suggests that the movie is not getting a 2021 release or that they are still unsure about that or other aspects of the movie. No, I don't think they will recast, or cancel the movie. Stop projecting. I'm simply saying there may be some issues that are causing a delay.

Word is that Marshall and the producers loved Harry but I find it difficult to believe they put all their eggs in one basket. They've been casting this movie for months and I doubt they've been sitting on their hands waiting for Harry to sign up until a few weeks ago. Marshall is too experienced not to have been looking at other options. I mean, we know there were auditions based on Asher Angel saying he auditioned for the role. To me, the most logical explanation is that this movie has been pushed backed for some other reason. I'd love to know why.

They could have talked about TLM if they wanted but all the movies that were presented are ahead of this one in the schedule and they still ended up going over the 2 hour mark. Make sense if they wanted to save the announcement for today but that's no guarantee either. Again, it would be strange if there was nothing but we'll see.

Feige's comment is PR nonsense but your post doesn't make sense either. Spider-Man's intro in CW is still one of the most memorable moments in the MCU and was significant in getting fans excited about a solo movie again. Having him there was more important than a 3rd solo movie, which wasn't gonna have a big impact on the MCU anyhow.
