Spider-Man has a lot of things going for it. Insane hype (shown in trailer views), December, and importantly Spidey plays well with younger diverse audiences who have been driving the BO recently.
Maybe ERC will finally let go of the Shang-Chi hate now that it can't be used to push the PA agenda. The tweet comparing BW summer dailies to SC schooldays was pathetic.
Not if the legs are as bad as they seem to be projecting. 140 would definitely be a disappointment. Those legs seem crazy bad though even with NTTD. Let's see.

I mean I think it will be an upper-echelon CBM anyway, so probably all this will be for nothing. But if anything I think critics will give it more positive reviews even if it's not that good because they like Zhao's style.
IM3 (and CW) didn't have the OS advantages of FFH and CM. As @Legion of the Ten Crores said their rankings at the time were a lot stronger. I am out of reactions but agree with the tier list that Legion posted.
Anyway as far as Eternals it will have good reviews and good audience scores. No need to overthink this after 25 movies.
I would say low tier (excluding Covid films) so far has been Ant-Man 1 and 2, Hulk, TFA, Thor 1. High tier is Avengers films, Iron Man 3, BP. All else is mid tier.
True, as much as people make fun of the next gen on the men's side, they are mostly just stopped by Djokovic. Even once the big 3 retire it won't be the same chaos like women's tennis post-Serena (post her peak I mean).
