My Civil War IMAX preview was packed last night. But that doesn’t really mean anything about general audience on the weekend. Hopefully WOM will spread quick though.
That last moment is great.
It looks lovely. It doesn’t look like $200m, but I guess salaries will be very high.
I’m intrigued. It has an uphill battle, because a lot of people who went to see the first film might not think it needed a sequel, but we’ll see.
There’s nothing sci-fi in it.
It doesn’t pit the right vs left. It doesn’t mention the right or the left.
There’s plenty of character development and world building.
This thread might be more worthwhile and make more sense once more people on here see the film.
The Florida and California thing is also one line of dialogue. Sneeze and you’d miss it.
But the internet is going to internet.
I think with this film you should withhold most of your comments until you’ve seen it.
Just back from seeing this in IMAX and it was …. Incredible.
I’m not into war films, at all. But this is something entirely fresh.
If anyone is offended or saying the film is representing this group or that group it’s 100% on them and they’re just projecting.
It’s hard to watch and there is so much harrowing stuff in here. But that’s what war is and this is anti war, not anti anyone in particular.
My palms were sweating, I was jumping and wincing and it’s just terrific.
5/5.
I think this kind of reaction is what the film will get a lot of, from people who don’t fully understand it or those who don’t “agree” with it or feel offended. It’ll no doubt be reflected in the cinemascore. With the addition of people not really knowing what they’re in for too.
And I’m not saying those are the only reasons someone might not like it, but it’s Grace’s anger and outrage lol rather than just dislike of the film.
Seeing it in IMAX tonight.
Grace is incapable of enjoying films that aren’t necessarily uplifting etc. This obviously made her feel a certain way and she’s taking it out on the film.
