  1. I on some Mucinex right now, so I guess I am doped up some, so please don't take this as an attack But let's go down the characters that supposedly didn't get any exposition about them Rey - left on Jakku by her parents and has stayed there as a scavenger because she feels they are coming back for her. She is constantly looking to the sky any time a ship comes by so you know she is lonely and is waiting. They show her fixing things left and right and able to talk to droids and wookies, so she is experienced in a lot of things. This was said and shown IN THE MOVIE, so you literally know 99% of her life except for her parents which we probably all have figured out Finn- was taken as a baby to be trained and brought up as nothing but a Stormtrooper, so much so he had a number, not a name. again said IN THE MOVIE, so just like Rey you literally know 99% of his life except for his parents, which may not lead to anything, but still you know his entire life Kylo Ren/Ben Solo - son of Han and Leia, has force connections and is an "angry" kid which is why Leia sent him to be trained by Luke. He gets seduced by Snoke and becomes Kylo Ren. again all said IN THE MOVIE. So you literally know 99% of his life except for how Snoke turned him, which better be shown in the next films So to say there was zero exposition for any of the characters is kind of a stretch. Now I am not saying that should make you care for any of the characters. Maybe the movie's other issues for you made you not care about them and hey that's perfectly cool. But you can't say they didn't tell you about any of the characters really other than Poe which we just know is the awesome Resistance pilot. I'll give you that. ok rant over, and didn't mean to come off mean if I did
  2. Yeah I am stuck between 3 and 4 as well. Over time, it may become third on its own
  3. since I finally posted a longer review in that thread, and seeing stuff in here. I really didn't realize some people had so many issues with the film. It appears to be the only place I have seen that. Not saying everyone has to like it, nor am I one of those that need to convert people to liking it. Hey, hate it for all I care but I am a bit "shocked" with some of the complaints. Oh well, everyone likes what they like

  5. Ok after seeing it a second time, and now actually being awake, I can do more of a full review. I'll start off again by saying the new main 3 were great. They all worked so well together and gives me lots of hope for them and the sequels. Rey is an incredible character and I loved seeing her go through her arc that will obviously lead to something much more. The movie looked great too. I liked all the different planets and locations which kept the look fresh instead of just being on one type of place. The connections to the other movies were mostly done well, even down to seeing the floating training droid again. All the acting was good which I was so happy to see. Even though I saw it coming, seeing Han get killed is still kind of surreal. Kylo Ren was a good start to a bad guy. You get to see him "grow" into the character as you can tell he is still learning his place even with his master. I liked him as the bad guy. I can't wait to see Snoke in the next sequels as well Of course seeing Luke at the end was awesome. He didn't need to say a word, his expressions alone made you understand what he was going through. Oh and the lightsaber going to Rey near the end instead of Kylo was one of those holy shit moments that made me love the Rey character even more Now was everything perfect, no. I get how some think it was too close to ANH and all that, but really that is what the movie needed. It is made to get people back in and almost "get rid of the old stuff" so they can move to the sequels and not have to worry about any of the previous 6 movies any more. But I get the take of it being a highlight reel so to speak. However, the movie was funny, emotional, started something that could get into even something bigger so for technically a part one of a trilogy, I think it did exactly what it was meant to do. Both times I've seen this, the audience ate everything up. I could go on and on, but I think people get my take by now easily one of the best movies I have seen this year and easily an A
  6. In the theater to see it a second time in about a 13 hour span I liked all the new characters . They all have good chemistry which helps a lot.
  7. Too tired to write a lot so I will just say it's easily an A and will expound after I sleep
  8. I've seen this in theaters many times since the first release. I don't need to see it in 3D for any reason
  9. I can see them wanting to do a "sequel" but i see a Fletch remake? Not sure that is a great idea. The first one was funny and quirky and mostly due to Chevy Chase, but never know
  10. meh. It didn't work for me. Later trailers might, but nothing in this one makes me want to see it
  11. Whoever wins, we lose sorry it just fit the your post
  12. The trailer was fun enough. I didn't expect much more and I had some fun with the first one too, so this could work for me
  13. Glad to see this back. I didn't play as much as some others, but it was fun the times I did it. I even came in the top 20 one time and thought that was pretty good enough to stop then
  14. If this isn't better than STID, it would have to be really bad and may be worth seeing just for the trainwreck
  15. RT finally learned how to do math and it's at 53% now. At one point previously, it was 6 rotten 6 fresh and the rating was 33%. lol I think even the most mathematically challenged knew that was 50%
  16. yeah I think that's about right. Once you starting getting past that I have heard groans from a crowd before
