  1. Deadpool Zootopia Kung Fu Panda 3 Batman v Superman Jungle Book CA: Civil War X Men Apocalypse Alice Through The Looking Glass Neighbors 2 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Now You See Me 2 Warcraft Angry Birds BFG The Boss Conjuring 2 Finding Dory Central Intelligence Secret Life of Pets Independence Day Resurgence Ghostbusters Ice Age Collision Course Star Trek Beyond Jason Bourne Suicide Squad Magnificent 7 Girl on Train Inferno Dr Strange Fantastic Beasts Moana Assassin Creed Rogue One Other possibles: Birth of a Nation, (strong buzz, maybe too arty for some), Deepwater Horizon, Home for Peculiar Children, Nice Guys, Tarzan (could be too goofy for adults), Huntsmen Winter's War (very weak trailer with bad fx, reliance on brand alone), Keanu (cast is too LGBT for some audience, premise is silly but some of the scenes in the trailer are insanely funny)
  2. How does that BvS number compare to other Superhero movies like Age of Ultron, Dark Knight Rises, and Spider-Man??
  3. Compare this trailer to another James Wan movie Conjuring 2. Pretty similar scare tactic
  4. People will just write why the embargo? WoM will destroy anything more effectively than critics. The regularly trashed Transformers series is unkillable. As long as China loves'em, Hollywood will build'em.
  5. And Fox stuck with X Men franchise that has a $240M domestic ceiling and a non-starter Fantastic Four, go for broke and released a foul mouthed Deadpool before BvS. It paid off, but I don't know how much their own jaw dropped..lol!
  6. Yea but only fairly recently. And true, 300 was an eye-opener for Hollywood but did only $70M. Alice opened in 2010 & HG in 2012 with $100M+ weekend. But BvS, a huge franchise, heavily marketed mega-blockbuster you only open in the summer season made Dark Knight/Marvel-type of grosses & it confirms the fact Hollywood doesn't need the Summer season as the only blockbuster arena.
  7. I have to say after all this, that Snyder is one hell of trailer maestro. Remember that 300 trailer set to that Nine Inch Nail's "Just Like You Imagined", the melancholic slo-mo of Watchmen trailer set to that Smashing Pumpkin song, one of the best doom-gloom trailers ever made, and of course those 2 amazing MoS teasers, each with voiceovers by Russell Crowe & Kevin Costner setting up MoS to be a movie about a child guided by 2 fathers -- too bad it devolves into smash-n-bash replay of Matrix Revolution. I think Snyder & co missed another chance to tell another great story about Bruce Wayne vs Clark Kent conflict: rich playboy vs farm-boy journalist, fascist vs libertarian, absolutist vs idealist etc rather than an overstuffed Justice League primer.
  8. Forget about the comics. Bane is supposed to be a non-verbal grunt in the comics. The way Tom Hardy plays him, ranting about the corruption of the civilization, one may agree with some of the things he said, he could be an anti-hero of some sort, an airplane-jumping, tank-robbing blogger who gets off his ass and actually do something. Of course, his methods are way too extreme. Lex is a cool genius guy in the comic, but here Warner chooses an unambiguous take on the guy: He Is a Whiny, Pathetic Loser, not to be respected at all, not a cool mastermind villain. Probably worry about those parents who are complaining that too many comic book villains are more interesting than the good guys. LOL! Suicide Squad - freaks in goth cosplay playing heroes. Deadpool - a foul-mouthed hero with alternative lifestyle, jeez!! LOL! Superman is boring, so just let him....hahahaha!! Maybe Bane is right, civilization is coming to an end. Time for a reset, baby : COME TO PAPA
  9. Seriously I think it is supposed to be a joke. This guy should not even hold a real baby after he kills one in the opening scene.
  10. He is not supposed to be heroic, he is slimy, manipulative, coward. He is not depicted as a cool elegant master criminal like Hans Gruber or bad-ass militant villain like Bane whom the audience can enjoy or even admire. Eisenberg is supposed to be a nasal, pathetic loser with genius IQ, Hollywood's recent barrage of hate letter to the whole tech hype (drone, digital download, digital camera, surveillance etc) and also the arrogant Silicon Valley type.
  11. Either way, BvS proves another crazy new thing in 2016: March is the new April, and before with Deadpool: February is the new May. If Hollywood could do the same thing with September, October & January ($100M ++ opening), there may be one year in the future when it is summer all year around.
  12. East coast registers are winding down and Warner Bros.’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is still on track to be the biggest pre-summer opening day with $80.5M (beating Furious 7‘s $67.4M) and weekend with $169.5M (outstripping The Hunger Games $152.5M) at 4,242 theaters.
  13. In line with its predicted Super Blockbuster status. Warner folks could sleep better now until Civil War erupts in May.
  14. Have you seen Last Seduction? I think people are genuinely afraid of her after watching this movie. Sharon Stone is like a Disney Girl compared to her.
  15. Re: Zootopia If it behaves like Inside Out from last weekend, it will end up with $290M But I think this will have strong leg and parents would prefer this over the dark & violent BvS for their younger preteens.
  16. Shouldn't people freak out because there is no BvS numbers?
  17. You have not seen the worst: I have been in a theater showing "Guardians of Galaxy" where a bunch of loud teenagers wearing "Avengers" T Shirt going: "Go Avengers !!!!" Strangely enough, I have not seen Marvel people boo-ing at DC movies or vice versa. But "Avengers" people boo-ing "Guardians" I have seen! What's wrong with this planet??
  18. Spanish opening: how strong is that compare to MoS, TDKR or TA2?
