Can NOAH hit $20M? It's holding pretty well

Still, one of the most successful franchises ever. Warner is fast running out of franchises now that Harry Potter (11 years), Dark Knight (7 years), Hobbits series (15 years) are all ending or has ended. MoS did very good business but fans are divided. MoS2 is being pushed back. And Warner has no interest in doing Flash or Green Arrow or WW movies, which is a shame really. And Potter's new spin-off will not be as successful as the original, I feel. Warner has no animation line-up unlike Fox & Disney which can boost annual numbers and buffer massive failures like SPEED RACER or BATTLEFIELD EARTH. They cannot kowtow to Nolan every time they need a $500M grosser.

Actually I am surprised that TASM did what it did. To me it's more like $400M - $500M WW grosser. Very soulless superhero movie, only slightly better than FF4 & GHOST RIDER1/2

My Gawd, really, people, can FROZEN hit $160M in Japan? I know Japanese loves Disney but this is beyond fandom this is worship!

Fox line-up covers all genre at multiple release slots, all demographics, four quadrant and what not. They will not cancel each other out. Only the competitors do

Fox franchises in 2016, insane: XMEN ID4 II DRAGON 3 APES 3 ICE AGE 5 PROMETHEUS 2 (ALIEN Prequel) If they move ALVIN & KUNGFU PANDA 3 to 2016, Warner & Disney may have trouble beating their WW revenue.

What I heard parent company of Columbia Pictures, Sony, is somewhat superstitious of Number 4. After SPIDER-MAN 3, instead of calling the next SPIDEY SPIDER-MAN4, they rebooted the series and have a fresh start. Will there be a TASM4? Or they are rebooting the series and call it THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SPIDER-MAN starring Logan Lerman.

They should continue with Maguire-starred SPIDERMAN 4 instead of breaking the continuity.

DIVERGENT, being a type of movie driven by fans, holds up surprisingly well.

Play-do CGI, too many silly villains. Do you see Rhino in that clunky robo suit? Jamie Foxx is not that great as the villain. The other villain is a screaming psycho-kid. Sony, better luck with TASM3. Hire a more visual director who knows how to bring out good performances from the younger cast next time.

And TASM2 will be brought down by.....the Giant Lizard? It's Sony vs Warner all over again. Sony: "First it was the Bat, now the g*damn lizard! A lizard!!!" Junior Exec:"Kinda ironic, in TASM1 Spidey beats the Lizard!" Senior Exec: "Shuddup!!"

They should do better and then higher drop-off in the 2nd weekend. The on-par performance of TASM2 showed there is demand for Spidey but muted. Fans didn't rush out. They might still come out and see the movie later on. It's just that there is a sense of superhero fatigue going on here after TDW & CATWS.

I expected TASM2 to do a little higher than that, given the fact that Korea is pro-superhero market. Unless it holds well here and in other major markets, I think TASM2 may not even match TASM1 OS...

One thing I can say Warner has put out a very suspenseful trailers. Very good marketing campaign. It's just that with the recent Korea ferry incident where hundreds of young students perished, I don't know if audience will go for "fun" disaster movies.
