I just watched the pilot. Thought it was pretty good. They really motored through it, but there's certainly good amounts of potential here. Barry is exceptionally likeable, and it was excellent to see him visit a friend
Was kinda bored throughout this episode. They need a proper hook soon before it becomes a drag. People know the Batman universe so we don't need this type of character building.
15 is pretty much where most R rated films end up in the UK. You have to go really hard R to get an 18 these days, which can be seen through only 4 mainstream movies this year so far getting it:
Wolf of Wall Street
The Raid 2
Sin City 2
and Gone Girl (which has surprised the hell out of me)
The ratings aren't brilliant for the opener, but I believe season 3 will hinge on The Avengers as much as the show it's self. The finale this year should certainly get a boost after AoU opens in May.
I don't think TMNT is likely to get the Pg13 equivalent here. Plus, as we heard a lot for the US, it did skew pretty young anyway. The thing to remember about piracy in the UK is that if the film is aimed at 16+ teens, a delay will damage it. Most other films will get away without an issue.
Because I haven't seen enough movies from years 2007 below, I'll say 2012 is the best. There were loads of awesome blockbusters that year, which I am a sucker for, some great animated movies, hilarious comedies, and yet the year was topped for me by two completely different international films (Intouchables and The Raid).
Titanic is my biggest one. I was about 14 when I first watched it, and claimed the sinking was the only good bit. When the rerelease trailer came out, I got excited to have the opportunity to re-evaluate it because it was a hell of a trailer. Actually seeing it in the theatre as an adult was an incredible experience, and turned it from a film I loathed to a film I'm very comfortable calling my third favourite of all time.
I wouldn't be so certain about it being a poor release date CJohn. We're getting it during our October break from schools, and it's only competition is going to be The Maze Runner the week before and Book of Life the week after. And it's getting IMAX screens as well. They probably made a smart move taking it out of summer, just like Disney did in '09 with Up.
