He works for one of the chains.
Used to be a member here and provided early numbers, before he got on his high horse and started harassing the mods and got permabanned.
People say that stuff is out of the bottle now. That seems daft to me, the studios can easily create scarcity again for their products if they wanted to. It's frustrating to point to a movie like Oppenheimer as an exception that can't be replicated. It could be, but the studios just think old man Nolan wants his own way rather than realising it still works in general.
Make sense, my dad can't tell whether something is HD or not so anything above dvd is lost on him. I've got a belligerent friend that genuinely doesn't understand the difference between Blu-ray and dvd though, that's mainly because he's an idiot.
The majority seem happy watching SD broadcasts on 4K tvs, the general public have never really cared about quality, otherwise dvd would have died 15 years ago
Bafta doesn't respect anime, pretty sure Heron is the first anime I've seen make the longlist, let alone get a nomination. Suzume didn't make that cut.
Make sense, I finally contributed, though my screening only had one other person in 😅
BUT, it was 11am and a Parent & Baby only screening. Anyway, I want 100 more movies like this please.
I'd definitely call that a win for Terrifier 3. I'm a hardened Saw fan, but some of the things in the first two movies turned my stomach for sure. Amazing make up and effects work, can't wait to see what they can do with a bigger budget.
