  1. What Fox said does not interest me when I know its wrong, they used sloppy wordings to imply... as so many do. Numbers are numbers, text is open to interpretation.... They are nit even forbidden to state wrong numbers, as long as the do not do that to their shareholders / stock market related. Even your posts already shows it did not beat it in every country, even if it would be only for one country a wrong statement. Yes, Titanic had an extreme success, but it did not beat the all time record in every country, yadda yadda. So where is the problem is: it beat in nearly all countries their all-time record? To me the whole theme is very boring since a long time, bordering to annoying, as it is nearly 22y now people hanging them-self to the avoidance of one word. Its not like it takes away from its then highest worldwide and whatever records.
  2. some have those support me via ... links under at least part of their clips included, acc to some comments there are quite some paying supporters there, so clicks could be a reason for some of those Started to compile a why I see Rothman as a problem list, did some glances at posts in www, that is a loooong lists of reasons, I am wondering why he still works in the business including his long list of misconduct complaints too. Like he doubted the success of Titanic, Avatar, and Transformers, but was not successful internally vs the former two, and Transformers ended with Paramount,.... And how much always others get the blame, especially directors for work he had damaged at best, and seemingly once another high up 'took the fall' in 2009 for numbes in 2008 Much reading stuff circling around, dated since the early '00
  3. As stated at an earlier post, I already followed BO before Titanic got released.... I am very much aware about then not everywhere being #1 = even if its about especially then small markets, see my comment about then alread have gotten surprised reaction. I follow BO since the '70....
  4. As I can't stand Rothman neither since a very long time.... didn't expect to find the tweets about Rothman green-lightening the last Fantastic 4 movie, his influence into X-Men The Last Stand, cancelling Firefly, his influence into Wolverine Origin (what he did there - that was a really bad one), how he tried to prevent the Deadpool movie in that thread 😉 The video clip gave a new detail I wasn't aware of (he seemingly mandated Alien vs Predator being a PG13 movie!? And gives some examples of his vindictiveness), so thank you for that post!
  5. Wasn't that obvious? 😉 A non-known / recognised as... outlet brings something strange, always check for what else 'it' wrote.... If I remember right, that account's tweets got used by a 4chan visitor who posts here too, that Dataracer name I've seen here at BOT not for the first time (tweets = questionable, the name does not match its 'messages'), the account hates Captain Marvel / Brie Larson and Disney's Star Wars, creates endless twisted fake news and starts fights a lot. The famous for the same hate YT channels I am aware of quote e.g. him or use screenshots of his tweets to prove 'things' = a few of those use the same wordings, might be run by the same person or group. Including Geeks + Gamers (over 180000 subscribers), who 'produced' way over 200 anti Brie Larson / Captain Marvel clips with falsified material early on (as I love that movie I encountered then that one a lot on the search there for new content) and more later on still, at least a few of those got deleted.
  6. That is what I mean with its all about the wording, formulation. They differ a lot. Out if the reasoning given its often rather simple to recognise where someone is coming from, no matter if positive or negative.
  7. Its so strange, here that's not a main genre / genre #1 = horror movie. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_genre Sooo interesting to learn other POV / rules /... And a good reminder for the next heated discussion, the other person might understand a definition in another way and as such 2 people can speak with each other without realising they do not speak about the same...
  8. Thank you very much, it is an interesting interview 😉
  9. European laws Tampopo is a great movie Out of the long quote: I can see RDJ as a director, if it wont take him away from his family. Not sure if Favereau sees that with the same % as me 😉 But he knows him, me not.
  10. agree AT&T Disney amazon Comcast Apple per revenue #1 Walmart #2 China Petrochemical Corporation #3 is a Dutch/UK gas & oil company, #4 a Chinese electricity company, the next 3 again gas & oil in Saudi Arabia, BP, and Exxon, then follows Volkswagen, Toyota, Apple, Berkshire Hathaway, Amazon, UnitedHealth, Samsung, .... At&T is at #25, with neither Comcast nor Disney being part of the top 50 list.
  11. Would love to, but THR reporter denies my European based access. Quiet a lit of websites 'solved' the new laws in Europe (we have to get the possibility to pick which cookies..,. we allow) per denying access. Others open an extra page where you can chose, or the simpler version, where all beside the minimum needed for the website itself, is already put on 'out' and you only have to finish that once. Still thank you, I get the gist a bit per quotes I guess 😉
  12. that's in my POV bad sportsmanship at best, if the movies are distributed by different companies, actors or crew, producers have contracts, even taking away their fair share.... thumb's down in a big way So glad cinemas here have only reserved seating (no matter if you reserve, the exact seat's row and number are on the ticket), the cinemas near to me also controlling the tickets for every room (I think a few of the big ones farer away have another system, not sure)

  14. In which way I make assumptions? It was about you making assumptions see the state of the US, see audience critics getting questioned for how-far they are actually doing a review or misuse it for something else... and what that has to mean as a general rule in your POV. Funny try to dismiss someone else's POV as 'not solid' beside said person actually experienced that time as a usually rather relaxed adult, without going into specifics where the 'fault' is seen. Poor.
  15. Do you really belive an Alien released in 2019 wouldn't get the same kind of reactions? I feel in the '90 the anti female reactions were less bad than today - by far. Me being the only female appearing on a work-site in the '80 had far less reactions than today (no matter if positive or negative), even if today I wouldn't be the only one. Especially as I was the boss of the department then (I work nowadays as the main job for a school, but still have contacts). Beside that, I said explicit its a question of formulation, the style tells a lot too often already.
  16. Ahhh, there are you coming from, interesting POV, in especial the amount of arroes 😉 Why has something to be above something else all the time if its about art or entertainment or something else that is not e.g. a sport event? Good, very good, weak, bad instalments, in the sum usually positive enough to merit additional parts or sub-series
  17. That is, what I was afraid of since the whole 'straming war' started. 18. I as an Avenger wouldn't let a YA lead me 😉 As IM wasn't the leader neither in a way, its a bit difficult to hand over a position that is not a position like in a company, but the voluntary respect of the other members to someone. In my POV he gave him his part in the Avenger in a way, but not all, see Pepper and daughter too still exist.
  19. They needed even to adjust twice their system based on what happened with the CM movie, as they now show the audience ratings split up into verified ticket buys too They had at least once deleted ~ 50000 ratings for CM already and its audience rating count is still way higher than usual in 2019. The participation went down down down by the GA the last few years, in my POV since it got so clear how it gets manipulated, and death threats.... made the news. GA reacts usually with ~ taking aback = less using it Every movie has people who like or dislike it, its a question of rating it once or rating it 1000x to 'strengthen' its own POV SW in especial had always very loud and very different POVs stating fans, that was even in the '80 already clear (I was an adult then and already since years into BO too) Its always a question of the formulations, if its clear its e.g. over the top, angst over females as leads and whatnot, ... = nothing to do with a movies strengths and problems at all. Fan based disappointments for story details vs craftsmanship, Zeitgeist vs craftsmanship, unrest vs craftsmanship and so on Especially in the reviewer part counts: the % says nothing about the quality of a movie, its rating does. Its low for a 'good' SW movie = 6.41/10 % is only for if its ~ enjoyable = it is, if going in without any expectations Not the best movie ever by far, but its not a bad movie neither. Without all the event movie expectations without all the hysteria around it,... its a nice movie to watch at a rainy Sunday afternoon in my POV. Its a half point to more than a full point less than the better SW movies, equal to SW 2 and better than SW 1 managed to get. Thank You for pointing that out. What 'some' Disney people did in 3 states for tax evation in connection to the resorts... not even the same department, no connection to BO details in general and so on... But people love to jump on things that furthers their bias Btw, still a bad thing with maybe huge consequences. see one post above, you seem to be one of those.... again. In general about the Sony Disney negotiations: if Feige is producing, Disney gets 1 movie less per year out of him, as the pre-Sony announcements were to increase to 3-4 movies a year, and they need to build up the next ~ wave out of a 'trough of the sea' they need more income to soften the blow. So the want to pay 50% of the production and get the matching share? I do understand Sony not wanting that, but Rothman is not to applaud for that, he never was a long term planer / thinker. He is a bully, had a long list of complaints of misconduct, so long FOX got rid of him. FOX usually ignores complains if a person makes enough money..... The one I am sad about is Tom Holland, he seems like the guy who wont like to work with a bully on set. Rothman has no respect at all for hired talents, including the detail I mostly use to show what I mean: he ordered to change a complete set colour scheme over the weekend without even informing the director and did more to influence the movies, the result was not good anymore (BO bomb), the director got the blame. Not meant as an example for him being a bully, but for how he, as a money man, thinks he knows better than an Oscar winner. Question: did someone move a discussion or two into fanwars or did I accidental click on it? I thought I started to read up in another thread???
