A 7-book series that was a global phenomenon even before the first movie got made though. I mean, the books got an entire generation to read! Of course the movie adaptations were going to be huge as long as they were competently made. Marvel OTOH didn't have movie rights to its A-Listers and had to build an entire franchise around its B-List and below, almost all of whom were unknown properties outside the comic geek circles. The fact that they had to build a brand from goodwill from their movies alone vs. the omnipresence of HP to rely on when Sorceror's Stone was released makes the MCU success a more impressive story. Also, for every Thor 2 there is a WS and GotG. Not that the HP series didn't have its weaker entries (Thor 2 > CoS).

Not to mention all these characters were exclusively Marvel B-Listers and below who have now been transformed into A-Listers.

Really now? I'll have to admit, I was spoiled about Hans a full three months before Frozen's release because I made the mistake of visiting its IMDb board. However, I watched the movie many times with people who weren't spoiled and they were all "Oh nooo!" in great dismay at the reveal. Later on, most of them told me they were expecting Hans to end up with Elsa, especially once he arrived at her ice palace. Similar to Enchanted, where the couples ended up switching. Nobody I knew suspected him to be a wolf in sheep's disguise at all.

Honey looks good in her civilian appearance, but as soon as they put her in her costume and helmet visor, she gets Rapunzel-face for some inexplicable reason. She's Not All That!

I would be super thrilled if Neeson and Garfield starred together in Penguins of Madagascar 2. The fact that the feature is Scorcese's next is plain insane.

Nolanites are setting themselves up for an unnecessary disappointment. Even if Interstellar proves to be as appealing as Inception, how on earth is it supposed to have such a leggy run with BH6, MJ1, Penguins, Into the Woods and Hobbit 3 fighting for family and teen audiences and a whole bunch of Oscar baits rivaling for adults? Anything above 250M should be considered a great success.

BH6 should actually have more of an emotional resonance than HTTYD and Iron Giant since . If the movie has been executed well, this could be another instant Disney Classic. Really hoping it doesn't disappoint.

It gained a cult following among fangirls because of that Jack Frost character who they think is the ideal "bad boy" boyfriend. First they started making artwork and YouTube videos featuring him, Merida, Hiccup and Rapunzel. This particular fandom was called the "Big Four" fans for their worship of those four CG teenagers. Then when Frozen came along, most of those folks ditched every Big Four character not named Jack Frost, and then became HUGE Jack Frost and Elsa shippers!
