There hasn't been a single monosyllable in any of your posts that I haven't wholeheartedly agreed with so far.

In that instance, I feel folks who are calling Peter a dick are kind of reacting like Harry instead of trying to understand where Peter was coming from. I liked the line where Harry Goblin says, "You don't give hope, Peter, you take away hope!" That kind of weird misunderstanding and false sense of persecution is the number one problem why friendships and relationships break. I just wish the movie had focused more on Harry's psyche and jaded outlook instead of wasting time on campy Rhino and Kafka. They probably didn't want to retread Harry Osborn's story arc from the Raimi films too much but Dane DeHaan was approaching the role in a completely different way than James Franco. So they might as well have made Peter, Gwen and Harry and their inter-relationships the focus of the movie. Would have given Gwen's death and Harry's fall more pathos and poignancy.

He thought Harry would mutate and/or go completely batshit crazy like Curt Connors. This movie has its flaws but THAT is not one of them. Peter actually says, "When Connors took my blood..." It was a pretty reasonable concern to have.

Cast Alia Bhatt as the lead and it will ensure 2 States or Humpty numbers.

Disney is Disney, it don't need to re-brand itself as the "New" anything. I much prefer the term Wikipedia has given for this new and improved period for WDAS: The Resurgence Era.

That's because Glen Keane is a master at blending wholesomeness and sexiness. The major characters he designed, Ariel, Pocahontas, Aladdin and Tarzan (and even Beast lol) show ample skin but he made them look adorable or cool for kids. Too bad Disney couldn't hold onto him longer.

Coz that character was blink and you miss it, not the female lead like Gamora in GotG. Though a lot of people did complain about the Uhura undressing/pervy peeping tom Kirk scene from that movie as well.

Wrong again. Women and families are the highest movie-going demographics right now. If you repulse a large chunk out of both of those groups, your movies stand a much smaller chance of breaking out.

No. The percentage of women and children would have dropped for sure if the most prominent female character was dressed like that.

Wasn't Shrek pretty much an instant classic too though? Frozen had a bigger impact on pop culture. I think a more Elsa-focused Frozen sequel could bring Shrek 2 down, provided they don't entirely downplay the comedy aspect with Olaf and the sisterly bond with Anna. I wasn't really serious about Disney Princess Avengers though. However, I wouldn't be too surprised if WDAS tries something epic to honor its legacy when it turns 100 in 2023.
