Not bad at all for GotG! -
Frozen 2 or an Avengers-style Disney Princess Team-Up movie could do it.

2D animation just cannot catch a break these days.

He also created Captain Jean DeWolf, one of my favorite Spidey supporting characters. I hope she hadn't been killed though her death made for a great story. If she had lived, she could have become a very interesting Commissioner Gordon equivalent for Spidey. Also, Debra Whitman is my second favorite Spidey love interest after Mary Jane. She was very unconventional for a superhero love interest. I hope they utilize her again in the comics.

Lol was the Cap who sexted a minor from DW too? -
The previous actress Aimee Richardson has stated she had to beg D&D to let her reprise the role after the pilot. It seems D&D and co. were initially just going to use her as a pilot stand-in, but then it became a situation of throwing the kid a bone as Myrcella doesn't do anything noteworthy in the first four seasons anyway. So they let her play the character in the two seasons she had a minor part in.

The comic book/superhero genre is incredibly versatile. And that's why it is here to stay. " I don’t believe in transcending the genre. I believe in the genre." -Joss Whedon

Top 25 Disney Animated Characters Of All Time RESULTS
Spidey Freak replied to Films's topic in The Speakeasy
Too bad that you didn't get time coz that Top 3!! Here, let the WINNER express his emotions at these results. On a sidenote, totally surprised at Belle's Top 6 placing! Didn't know she was THAT popular! OTOH totally not surprised there is only one TLK character in the Top 10 at #9, and that too deservedly Scar. See, that's why I say the movie is overrated. The characters just aren't all that. -
GotG is such a wildcard lol. I love how no one really knows how it will perform coz there just is no decent comparison.

Well, Home on the Range did scream Vivaldi. Yay! Maybe that card will have an Elsa-like journey from being non-existent in the initial marketing to being featured least prominently to more prominently with each successive promo and poster. -

"Arguably" is the key word. WDAS is hot right now for ushering in a comeback for the princess films/fairytale musicals. BH6 doesn't fit that mold. I just hope this doesn't turn out to be Rescuers Down Under to Tangled/Frozen's Little Mermaid/Beauty and the Beast, is all. -

They should at least put in "Based on Marvel characters" somewhere in the promos. This is going against Interstellar. Two different demographics but we know how a more adult-skewing film can affect an animated family movie (TH2/KFP2 in 2011, 22JS/HTTYD2 this year). At least acknowledging the Marvel connection can catch the attention of the larger mainstream. Why is marketing not playing up this angle when the brand is HOTTTT right now? -
Decades no. One decade at the most. Coz this is Marvel. Expect the unexpected. And while there was no Pepper family reunion episode, there were two movies that heavily focused on the drama of the Asgardian Royal Family. As for expectations from a blockbuster superhero movie, GotG and Doctor Strange will shatter it. And no, Marvel is no longer "limited" to the big screen. There is AoS, and soon Agent Carter, Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist on their way. I'm sure these shows will feature episodes you were talking about that focus only on drama and not action/adventure.So yeah, multiple movies AND multiple shows per year. That's the simplest reason why Marvel will expand its universe at a much faster rate than Trek.

I'm sure Marvel has made much more seeing how they have their OWN blockbuster movie studio. They've consistently had books, animated shows, toys and other merchandising since the 60's too. Also, they didn't get bankrupt because of lack of popularity. It was due to egomaniac top management trying to destroy DC and other competition by making the assinine decision to buy entire retail chains selling comics and making them Marvel exclusive stores. After that plan backfired, the douches were let off and Marvel managed to bounce back successfully. It's all in the past now. There may have been a point where ST revenues were greater than Marvel's but that time has gone.
