How is August 2023 looking like in terms of releases? I feel like this should be moved up to either August 4 or August 11 just to utilize a couple of weeks' additional holidays. And I can see this coexisting with Barbie (which will be in its 3rd week in August anyway), so that shouldn't be a major issue.

Sydney or Celeste might be Spider-Gwen. Maybe the Spider-Person in this universe IS Spider-Gwen. 👀 I'm pretty sure one of them is Black Cat. This might have absorbed that planned Black Cat and Silver Sable movie too, like how Fox initially wanted to do X-Men Origins: Magneto and X-Men Origins: Mystique but those films eventually became X-Men: First Class.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness OS Thread
Spidey Freak replied to john2000's topic in International Box Office
If DS2 had as many characters with longer screen time as Civil War, it would have outgrossed it even without China and Russia. I'm not sure how Disney will feel about not making 1B but I hope Feige drags them a bit for revealing too much in the promos. It's funny how Sony ended up being more restrained with NWH marketing, which in turn led to a more satisfying theatrical experience. -
Many people still think racism ended after the Civil War and that raising awareness on slavery in schools is psychological warfare against white kids or whatever. There's never going to be a "subtle" and "polite" way of exploring race in America. Black Panther managed to sidestep the issue by making the African-American character the villain so that some audience members didn't feel too uncomfortable. Can't be done when the protagonist is an African-American character representing the embodiment of America. That's not to say TF&TWS didn't have issues like pacing (like all Disney+ Marvel shows so far), the uwu-fication of Zemo, Sharon's unexplored backstory, weak and inconsistent handling of the Flag Smashers etc. but the parts that actually explored race in America were fine, and any scene featuring Carl Lumbly's Isaiah Bradley was when the show was at its strongest. TLDR This film will be a lightning rod for the racists by its very existence so best not to engage the haters.

Bridgerton, the MCU of period drama, got fickle GA dropping Downton like it's Transformers from mid-2010's onward

Literally the first thing I thought of too. Astrology already has different elements representing different emotions, so the premise of this is what? What if emotions had emotions? 😛 It might be fun and better than The Good Dinosaur but it feels too much of a redux and less fascinating than Inside Out and ATLA. Also, June 2023 is already shaping up to be a bloodbath with Spider-Verse 2 right there. And still waiting for one of these element themed stories to make the Earth element rep character the protagonist for once.

I mean, technically if a trans actress is cast then the character can still remain the same. Benedict would (kinda) qualify as queer tho as Regency Era never had gender reassignment surgeries so Sophie would assumedly be pre-op. Also, the fans need to chill. All this time I kept hearing that the Kanthony book was the best and that Kate was the best love interest and now all of a sudden Sophie is the fan favorite? Lol. They gonna hype every book at this point.

Benedict gonna live that spinster life. I wonder if even Eloise gets her season before him. This might give the character the opportunity to explore his sexuality over a broader period of time in B-plots tho, if that's the route they ultimately choose to take as mildly hinted in S1 but never touched upon in S2.

THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE: $309.3m
Spidey Freak replied to Noctis's topic in International Box Office
Seems like one-two punch of Golden Week getting over and DS2 first full week slaughtered it. 400M is likely dead, as is at least the theatrical continuation of this franchise -
Twitter has made it INCREDIBLY easy for even the most casual fan to know about these 'leaks'. I don't even go on Reddit but one day I will see Deadpool trending on Twitter and find out it's folks being jazzed about Deadpool being in MoM without really knowing the source (which usually turns out to be one of these geek YouTubers or some obscure fan site).

DS2 drop I think confirms a lot of people thought this was going to be a cameofest of Multiverse characters ("scoopers" claimed everyone from Deadpool to Tom Cruise Iron Man was appearing), and it's just a case of folks finding out that's not the case and it's closer to a more regular solo/duo MCU movie. Neighborhood of 400M will still be amazing for a Strange/Scarlet Witch movie. Firestarter should have just been an OTT release.

I may be reading too much into it but I feel like Stewart and Krasinski were just deliberate throwaways on Feige and co.'s part to acknowledge their respective fanbases but to make a point that there isn't really a place for them in the MCU by depicting them as cannon fodder. Similar to the Black Bolt treatment. Of course, I may be proven wrong if Krasinski is cast as 616 Reed Richards but if that were really the plan, this 🤡 showing makes no sense whatsoever. I'll always have a soft spot for an old-school Scarlet Witch hating sassy X-Men fan.

I respect that man's commitment to completely destroy the fuck out of that franchise until it never sees the light of day again... ever. Krasinski is just... not happening as Mr. Fantastic. Reed is an arrogant dick like Strange but one who got the girl and is much smarter and Kris Jenners his way to making his family pop-culture icons. Krasinski can play two roles: generic supportive dorky team player and generic supportive dorky dad. Points to him for trying to combine both here? Totally miscast. Some people just want Blunt and him to be in the MCU together and no other reason. I hope they cast someone else for the main universe character.
