  1. Ah, so it has to be established animation franchise like Ice Age, which is every popular overseas in general. Aside from Hobbit 2, seems like this year doesn't have many guaranteed big grossers like IA4 or BDII like last year, right? Could STiD do well since it's a sci-fi movie? Or CF since it's a sequel? Thor did the best here out of all Marvel movies barring TA, so I'm hoping Thor: TDW will do well and have a good increase Well, considering TA did about 43M, I thought IM3 doing more than half of that would be great already But of course, if it can gross 30M+ then I'll be a very happy fan
  2. Ah, forget about that one. Yeah, definitely can see that happen most likely. It certainly will gross more than the first one since sequels do well overseas. So 50M+ for DOS I think since the first one did like 43M or so.
  3. So out of all Hollywood releases this year, which has the best chance at being #1 in gross in Russia if I may ask?I see that animations are big over there so maybe Despicable Me 2 or Monsters U then.I'm hoping IM3 can do about 25M there, would that be too much?

  5. It's a tie for me. But if I really have to choose, then IB, cause I think it has tighter editting. One thing for sure, Christoph Waltz is absolutely awesome in both roles he's in. I really like the guy. Wonder if Quentin will keep using Waltz in his movies?! Hope so ^^
  6. Seems like it's been a really long time since we got a major movie with 70%+ RT score Side Effects is the only one I can think of right now and that's not really a big release
  7. Do we have a Cinema Score for The Host?
  8. Definitely. They're green-lighting GI Joe 3 as we speak
  9. Hollywood movies are having a really hard time in China right now huh?! I really hope that IM3 break out, TA's numbers would be nice
  10. The Korean actor in G.I. Joe is really famous in his country, that ought to help with its gross in South Korea I think. Overseas market seems slow right now without many interesting movies worth seeing, so GI Joe 2 might do well.
  11. 1. Iron Man 32. Thor: The Dark World3. Despicable Me 24. Star Trek into Darkness5. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire6. The Hangover Part III7. The Heat8. Now You See Me9. Frozen10. Pacific Rim
  12. SLP's drop is incredible I may have to check out Olympus Has Fallen after all
  13. For me, the best one is Toy Story 3. I would rank them: 1. Toy Story 3 - 10/10 2. Titanic - 9.5/10 3. The Avengers/The Dark Knight - 9/10 4. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - 8/10 5. Skyfall/Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part II - 8/10 6. Avatar - 7/10 7. Lord of the Rings: The Return of The King - 7/10 8. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace - 6.5/10 9. The Dark Knight Rises - 6/10 10. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - 5/10 11. Transformer: Dark of The Moon/Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - 4/10 12. Alice in Wonderland - 3/10
  14. Ah, sad to hear that. I used to watch a lot of period Mainland dramas but then I got busy and had to cut down. I read a few casting choices for the new Tian Long Ba Bu and it doesn't sound good either. The 2003 version is pretty much perfect in my book so I doubted that this new one can live up to that. And now that you said it will be crap, I think I can trust you
  15. What is FMR?BTW, POLYLOVE, thank you for all your recommendations. I watched a few movies so far and enjoyed them all. Here's to more ^^ All the watching makes me want to start following some Mainland drama/series again. Anything good worth following now? I heard there's a new Tian Long Ba Bu series but its still filming? Loved the 2003 version, my most favorite wuxia TV series of all time. The novel is the best wuxia novel for me too so hoping the new version will do a good job.

    JLAW

I'm not the biggest fan of JLaw like many here, but I like her a lot because of her down-to-earth attitude offscreen. Even with all the successes at a young age, she always seems to be very level-headed and humble. That's what makes me admire her the most. So just curious, what makes you think that she's fake?!
  18. Isn't RDJ a little too old for the role? The main draw I think is still Oz, but one thing for sure, opening will be higher thanks to the female demographic. Like Hansel and Gretel for example, I know that lots of girls/ladies watch it to see Renner only. Same goes for RDJ if he starred in Oz IMO, the movie would get more hype on Tumblr, and there would be plenty of ladies who will watch it just for him.
  19. It's username change actually. Change that and we're good Thanks fmpro
  20. So, fmpro, can you put me and ED down in a summary post or something similar to make the bet official? Thank you ^^
  21. LOL, okay! I'm not good at this choosing stakes thing so I'm just gonna copy you ^^ So "Sam is awesome" username change for a month then. Deal?
