Fast 6 won't be the hit many expect either. Too much competition from The Hangover 3 and holdovers. Plus, it doesn't seem to be getting as good reviews as Fast Five.

Nobody into FF6 reads reviews or the franchise wouldn`t survive until 6th movie (even though Fast Five actually got good ones).

They don't look into reviews, but they look into movie quality. It might have a big Friday, but if the movie isn't good, the Word of mouth won't be good... and you know the whole deal.

According to Paramount's exit polling, Star Trek's overall audience composition was 60 percent male and 65 percent over 25 years old.

So it skewed more towards males this time by 4%. TGG is responsible for this difference, but the effect doesn't seem huge tho, although it seems significant.

Fast 6 is pretty solid. Not as good as fast 5 but it has insane action sequences, some very funny moments and genuinely likeable cast. Its going to have very good WOM imo

Even the 25+ demo. 65% for ST and 73% for STID. The teens are waiting for THE HANGOVER lll and FAF Vl.

Next weekend is sure going to be interesting no matter what. Sequels to two high grossing franchises releasing together, one under the radar and possible dark horse animated movie, one wreck of a big budgeted holdover that released just a week earlier, one unexpected smash hit holdover that released just two weeks before, and one mammoth success holdover that released three weeks before.

This is a first of its kind scenario and I can't wait to see who comes out on top and who burns in the horrible carpile inferno.
