The chemistry between Rome and Brian makes the movie. It doesn't try as hard as the first one though, which is kinda disappointing. The first one has higher highs, but this one is more consistent. They're close, but I think this one is a little lesser. Just barely though. B

Turbo-Charged Prelude to 2 Fast 2 Furious is a bizarre bit of marketing that has confusing editing and very stupid music. Pass. D-

2 Fast 2 Furious is a step down from the original in a obvious way. The loss of Diesel is felt strongly, even though Tyrese is a very welcome addition to the franchise. The film shifts to more of an action film, but it's definitely quantity over quantity. The action sequences are highly stylized but rarely in an interesting way. Walker and Gibson never truly fit chemistry-wise too. They both come off annoying a lot of the time, whereas a more serious vibe probably would've worked better. 2 Fast 2 Furious is a step down from the original thanks to becoming too big for its own serious tone with its carefree characters clashing with the tone far too often.
