Jay Beezy
Fast 6's second Friday is less than Fast Five's? WTF? It better see a good increase today.
Lordmandeep
I actually think Man of Steel will have the legs on par with Batman Begins. The circle jerk continues.
druv10
IM3 2.2!? Wtf It's not only IM3. STID, HO3, F6, Epic and TGG all had massive drops from last Friday. Something depressed the market on Friday as new openers only amounted for 20M so clearly it wasn't them.

Founder / Operator Shawn Robbins Posted June 1, 2013 Founder / Operator Share Posted June 1, 2013 This is what happens on a post-record-holiday weekend when too much competition overwhelms the market.
lab276
The equivalent Fridays in both 2012 and 2011 were about the same size. 2009 was too in dollars.
kayumanggi
People who saw F&F Vl enjoyed it. But like what I said, wom was so-so since the audience didn't really grow.

I guess that's as good an explanation as any for these massive drops from last Friday. Studios should be less stubborn in the future and move some of these movies around. I also think FF is just a frontloaded series like Twilight. Everyone goes out and checks it out but repeat business won't be strong. I think WOM for FF6 has been good though but again I don't know about repeat business. But the whole weekend looks weak to me overall even for the new films.

Lordmandeep
Fast Six is likely to end up over 230-240 million so the audience did grow and with crazy competition.. Edited June 1, 2013 by Lordmandeep
CoolioD1
But hey on a better note, The Rock has had the #1 movie at the end of three months in a row.
Founder / Operator Shawn Robbins Posted June 1, 2013 Founder / Operator Share Posted June 1, 2013 May 2014 looks fine. Ehh... it's going to drop big time from this May, IMO. I'm not convinced next May is going to be that great. Line-up is shaky.

lab276
As it turns out, the same Friday in 2002 saw what look like weak increases to me too, followed by a very strong Saturday. Wishful thinking?
