Hi efia where from... Dont fret yet about falling under 320m my friend.. Storms most of the time prevent folks from going to theaters. Things should pick up on the weekend. Also I love how Supes held nicely vs NBA finals game which could have been a big upset of Miami.. Wow.

Based on pre-release tracking, box observers believe the 3D toon has a strong shot of grossing $70 million or more in its debut, likely enough to beat out Brad Pitt's high-profile zombie picWorld War Z and holdover Man of Steel. Both Monsters U anWorld War Z rollout in select theaters at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Paramount is predicting an opening in the $40 million to $45 million for World War Z, which is rated PG-13. But more bullish box office observers with access to tracking believe the movie -- produced by and starring Pitt -- could open in the $50 million range, while Man of Steel could earn anywhere from $50 million to $60 million in its second outing.

World War Z, based on Max Brook's 2006 novel of the same name, is a sizeable gamble for the studio, costing $190 million to produce after tax incentives. The budget was originally $150 million, but extensive reshoots bumped up the number (it was initially slotted to open in December 2010).

8.2-5m

That's horrendous. Maybe it'll have good late night legs and jump up into the 9's since there's no NBA tonight. NHL won't have anywhere near as big an impact. (Of course, Boston and Chicago do have a bigger population that will be affected than San Antonio and Miami.)

Bad number if thats what happens, and thursday will be horrendous for all movies (there will be tons of laughs about WWZ's thursday night #). Friday and saturdays jumps will be very big. I do like that tracking though for this weekend of $50-$60. No need for panic though, this week is not friendly to big numbers. Millions of kids finishing school and a very good finals series.
