Blankments
Uni will just fudge their way to get 100m actuals. It'll be their first 100m OW after all, they want the record badly, not just the headline for the estimates. Fast and Furious
mcneil039
Fast and Furious 6 There's always a first Uni can't be immune to fudging just like they are not immune to making 3d live action films.
Moviedweeb
What are the movies shot natively in 3d this year, not counting CGI animation ? Gravity The Hobbit Oz ? So only 2, 3 movies. That s kinda pathetic. Gravity is converted but it was conceived and developed for 3D from the ground up. Most of the environments are CG as well and I don't think that shooting it in 3D would have made much a of a difference for this one. Other native 3D films this year: Gatsby, Jack and the Giant Slayer, 47 Ronin but still light on the native-3d unfortunately.
Robertron
Fast and Furious 6Actuals were too far off to fudge.Although Paramount did their infamous PR, $2m made a hell of a difference when talking $200m, not $100m.
lilmac
Shrek 3 and 4 opened a month before Ratatouille and Toy Story 3. Not really anything like this situation. I'm pretty sure we've never had two extremely high profile animated films open so close to each other. Yes, that's what I meant. Two major animated films opening up within 2-3 weeks of each other. Newbie
So tommorow man of steel overtakes TASM as the most successful reboot box office wise domestically Yes, but also I don't know. Without looking at the past, its absolute huge Yes. Where we aren't tracking attendance, or loss or gain of audience. But if you factor in the past projects that its rebooting, is it? I mean adjusted what did Superman do? What Did TASM do compare to the adjusted previous SPiderman films, What did Casino Royale do in comparison to the adjusted Bond films.Did any of them actually improve teh audience that previously viewed similar material? Has any reboot ever managed to have more viewers then what its based on? I mean Superman did adjusted what 450 plus Spiderman did 550 plus adjusted Clearly in comaprison with just Spiderman its shows far less audience loss then what TASM shows. Teh Bond Films? Have no idea. Batman Begins did what percentage of what Batman did? Man of Steel has to be better then that. What did other reboots do? Well, all of that sounds interesting, but when MOS passes ASM, it becomes the biggest reboot ever.

Louis Lux
That's the point no? Reboots do not retain 100% of their audience, so MOS being able to return the Superman franchise to its peak in the 80s it's really great.

MagnetMan
I hated Anchorman when I saw it in theaters. It was something that grew on me and became hilarious.

#ED
I hate talking "adjusted" talk.A lot more people went to theaters back then. We get it.The money is being made now. That's what matters. There was zero Internet back then and VHS sucked.2 tapes for Titanic and Scarface? GTFO.

mahnamahna
It's very American humour.Well, it doesn't make it bad - I don't get British humor at all but I liked Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Still, English sitcoms are meh, but you have Doctor Who so it evens out lol
