Indian Box Office Thread | Jawan overtakes Pathaan, becomes highest grossing Indian movie of 2023

Recommended Posts

Really feels like the 4 year absence made people realize just how much we all missed SRK collectively.

Brahmastra was the perfect appetizer for this. In the scene where we see SRK and Ranbir saying the same dialogue in the same scene due to their mental connection was a clear distillation of the difference between an actor and a star. Ranbir is just saying the words, SRK made the stupid dialogue feel almost credible.

It will be interesting to see SRK transition to the senior statesman roles around 2030ish or so once Amitabh is no longer around to take on them.

what are the odds of it becoming a top 5 grosser in india all time?

Friday's hold will give a good idea..as of now, the way the first 2 days have gone, I'd say there is a decent chance for it to end at 4th place. Top3 will stay the same.

Pathaan Goes To Another Level On Second Day - All Records Shattered

Pathaan has simply gone to another level as it collects around the 70 crore nett mark on the second day in hindi. There are no word to describe what is happening across the country as every centre sees new highs. It will not be a surprise if the collections are over 70 crore nett as the growth in parts of the hindi belts which underperformed is historic and even more interesting will be the growth where it was extraordinary on the first day as there will so mad mad totals coming from some circuits.

The two day business is looking in the 125 crore nett range which only the two dubbed films (KGF2 and Bahubali - The Conclusion have bettered over three days and with some luck it may even edge past Bahubali -The Conclusion in two days. The growth will probably be muted in the South as the first day was out of this world and even an inconsequential circuit for Hindi films like Kerala put up a crazy 1.22 crore nett total. Nizam / Andhra and Mysore were extraordinary.

There is no film which has even got close to 70 crore nett with the 50 crore nett mark being breached a couple of times on the first day. Pathaan is simply running riot at the box office and this much needed for the Hindi film industry but no one could have expected that numbers like this would come where records are just not being broken but shattered to bits.

So can it beat KGF2 or even Bahubali 2 hindi numbers? What is the peak potential? Its great to see local movies exploding this way. Dont remember when there was a bollywood flick doing it in past few years? Isn't Dangal still the biggest Bollywood movie ever?

Baahubali2's Hindi version gross will be safe but it might have a chance to beat KGF2's Hindi version gross depending on its Monday hold. Dangal is still Bollywood's biggest grosser both in India and it's been more than 6 years since Dangal released.

Yes it will beat Dangal Nett (387) with ease and should also go over Gross (511) numbers. KGF 2 Hindi (428 Nett, 514 Gross) is a good target for but I want 475 Nett & 570 Gross.

is Baahubali2 Hindi version gross more than 700C ?
