mahnamahna
Well PG use to be way too broad that's for sure True! But here's what I consider true PG films: Rango We Bought a Zoo Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban The Goonies Shrek 1 and 2 Antz E.T. Impact
Some films just seem to get rated too low Well whatever don't feel like talking about it
CaptainJackSparrow
Ice Age 2 could also be considered a true PG film also because of the cussing.

rukaio101
In America, rated G means everyone can watch it while rated PG means that parental guidance is needed. However, so many kids movies today get rated PG that when Rango or We Bought a Zoo come out with a PG, everyone is shocked that there's cuss words, etc. The new Muppet movie has nothing PG rated at all (again, potty humor doesn't require parental guidance IMO) while Ice Age is equal to the Disney Renaissance films in terms of intensity I personally think most kids movies today should be rated G Oh, that makes sense. Our PG is more Parental Guidance recommended, than Parental Guidance needed. Some films just seem to get rated too low Well whatever don't feel like talking about it I second this. Somehow, over here, Riddick only got a 15. Despite the scene where a character gets half his head chopped off and there's a long lingering shot of his bloody remains. And don't even get me started on Princess Mononoke only getting a PG.
Blankments
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs has the oddest PG rating ever. I think they have a grand total of one swear word just to get the PG rating.
SchumacherFTW
I find it funny that virtually all pg rated animated films released in the US get a U ( equivalent of G) here in the UK. All the shreks, every pixar film with the exception of the first Toy Story and Cars as well as brave, despicable Me, Ice Age. Always U. baumer
How about pg films that should have been R JAWS JAWS 2 There's no way a kid under the age of 14 should be seeing those. Fucked me up for life. Damn you Spielberg! Damn you to hell!!
cookie
PG films got away with a lot of things back when there was no middle ground between that and R. Edited September 20, 2013 by C00k13

SchumacherFTW
That and gremlins really were too hardcore for PG back then. Gremlins was forced to take a 15 rating here in the UK.
