peludo
According Spanish thread, Apes has opened to 4.6 million $, just 400k down from first part. Considering the shameful condition of box office here, I think it is a great number.
Hernan Gonzalez
Deadline:"After beginning to roll out Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes last weekend, the studio added 29 markets this frame with $61M on 10,079 screens in a total 50 markets. The Matt Reeves-directed sequel had No. 1 rankings in 36 of those markets helping take the international cume to $103M. The UK was the top debut this frame with $14.57M on 1,150 screens and was 47% higher than Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. In Russia, the Apesdrew $9.8M on 2,265 screens – a whopping 135% increase on Rise. Spain gave the movie its biggest industry opening weekend of 2014 with a nearly 60% share and $4.6M on 754 screens. In holdovers, Korea posted $9M on 954 screens which was a 22% drop from its first frame. The movie is now the 4th highest-grossing Fox title of all time in the market. There are still several major markets to release including Mexico and Brazil which form part of the 17 territories that will see Dawn next week."

Tau Ceti
Caesar would surely counsel patience as we look at these numbers. Apes must extend the dawn to more countries.

Hernan Gonzalez
I am actually thinking 700m WW if China delivers. Then Apes would be the 6th movie released before August to do more than $700m WW. Last year only 4 movies released before August did that!!! Edited July 25, 2014 by Henry II of Arendelle
Ash Skywalker
DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES: $183.8M Overseas Total / $355.8M Global Total #DawnOfThePlanetOfTheApes — BoxOffice (@BoxOffice) July 27, 2014
Tau Ceti
Total Lifetime Grosses Domestic: $172,089,000 48.6% + Foreign: $181,900,000 51.4% = Worldwide: $353,989,000 That's up $73m foreign versus last week. Not bad although the staggered release schedule makes it harder to get a grip on how it will wind up. France, Germany, Italy still to come. The comparison between both movies at this point (in the markets that we have both figures) is: Rise: 99.17 million Dawn: 165.18 million It is a 66.66% better, what would mean 500 million OS. Dawn will not have the same legs than Rise, but still it should be enough to get a very good increase.
