71st Golden Globes Ceremony Thread - Tonight, on now!

In the digital era where album sales are practically meaningless right? ;)  The 90's album market was massive. It took like 400k+ a lot of weeks to hit #1. And #1 on an album chart is not that big of a deal in the long run of an album's sales. Most of the best selling albums of all time never hit #1, some never hit top 10. If Frozen's soundtrack was such a huge success, the songs would be selling like crazy on iTunes and getting big airplay. Single sales are way bigger today than album sales, but even still the 90's ones had songs that went top 10 and even #1 on the Hot 100. Frozen can't even do that.

Considering no radio station is playing the songs (don't know why since they'd be a nice contrast to the Auto-Tune garbage of most mainstream radio), its performance is solely on WOM... that's solid and keep in mind a lot of people are individually downloading certain songs (Let it Go, Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?, and For the First Time in Forever) so that doesn't count as far as album sales go... and millions more are illegally downloading it as well as listening for free on YouTube which is getting over a million viewers a day for "Let it Go"

But single sales are where it's at today, not album sales. If Frozen's soundtrack was so huge there would be multiple songs from it in the top 20 on itunes, and Let It Go would be in the top 5 if it was such a big hit. Just look at when someone like Taylor Swift releases a new album, half of the top twenty becomes songs from that album.

The ACTUAL Comedy/Musical nominees (the ones that are funny and musical ;) not just dramas with comedic moments):

Frozen

This is the End

Inside Llewyn Davis

American Hustle

The World's End

If we're excluding TWOWS from this category than American Hustle certainly should be. If either was a drama it was definitely AH.
