This years Oscars kind of piss me off. SMB snubbed, Monsters University snubbed, Lone Ranger 2 nominations, Meryl Streep nomination, and Blackfish not nominated for doc. 

 

Also no horror films (Conjuring) are nominated. I am pissed still that Cabin in the Woods never got any nominations despite a 93% on RT and terrific reviews/film.

At this point Meryl Streep is like Notre Dame in football or Duke in basketball.  Even a mediocre year gets you ranked

Seems like the average person thinks American Hustle got more oscar nominations then it should have. I'm inclined to agree.

Supporting Actor is usually a category for the old guys (just look at the last two years) but this year the oldest nominee is Jared Leto.

Prisoners has amazing cinematography and I just remembered that I fucking forgot about it on the ballot for our awards.

Didn't even realize that O'Russell managed to get his 4 leads acting noms after last year's Silver Linings Playbook.

 

O'Russell's got some friends in the Academy. Maybe half of the leads were deserving of the nods between the two films.

Well, you know where my interest lies. So Blackfish not being nominated is a bit of a pisser for me.

Hey, I'm pissed about a lot of snubs but I'll still watch, there were some interesting choices this year.I'm actually really happy Hill got in, I'm sad it was Bruhl who got out instead of say Cooper though.

Alexander Payne and David O. Russell both get their third Best director nomination in a row.
