HUGE for Barbie. Buenos Aires' holidays helped Elemental to weather the pink storm. 

Oppenheimer is very good also, in Chile and Argentina it was released on a somewhat limited number of screens.

Another great day, jumps are smaller, but seems normal with all schools being out. I wonder how much the movies will jump on Saturday and Sunday. Barbie did gross less than OD although its basicly even, curious if it will jump over the weekend.

Also the cumulative number of Elemental is higher than the added dailies over the past 2 days so either the dallie grosses are under reported or they adjusting grosses from last week. (we are talking about 4k ish for the last 2 day, so nothing big)

Sometimes when you check numbers very early in the morning they are not final and they get updated a bit later, the difference is usually very small, like what you have seen.

 

Edit: Actually the same thing happened on Thursday, you posted 260k for Barbie and I posted 268k, the latter ended up being the final.

It will be close for Barbie but it should clear the 1m admission mark on OW. It had very small increase compared to friday, basicly flat. A small sunday bump should get it over 1m. It will do elementals first 4 weeks in 4 days, absolutely crazy.

 

Elemental still in 2nd, saw a small increase over friday, sunday should be strong enough to get the weekend over 250k. Although it clearly was affected by Barbie (seeing as tuesday was 80k, 15-20k higher than friday and sat), it still held very well. Mario isn't safe and this might be the contender for Barbie for the top of the year. Asuming both this movie and Barbie don't fall off a cliff after schools are back in.

 

Oppenheimer enjoyed the biggest increase, should get to / over 170k for OW, very good for this type of movie. It should barely beat out dunkirk in $ gross but that movie only managed a 2.4x multie from OW. If this holds decenlty it should manage a atleast 500k admission.

In 16 hours I will leave on vacation so no more updates for 2 weeks, but I am sure there are enough enthousiastic people in this thread that will keep you guys/girls informed on 2 of the biggest runs this year!

The fact that Barbie did ~250k every day of the weekend shows that there are capacity issues holding it back. Excellent results for Elemental and Oppenheimer.

Toy Story 4, Endgame , No way Home, and Furious 7 had Wednesday previews, while Barbie, Fate and Inifnity War didn't, so Barbie is the third best pure OW in Argentina. In fact, it could even be the second highest, as Endgame did have previews but Disney never reported the Wednesday numbers, they instead reported Wed+Thu together.
With pure Thursday to Sunday numbers, Barbie beats Furious 7 and No Way Home.

July 20 to July 26 was the most attended week ever.

On Wednesday, July 26, 2023, a historic week for theater attendance closed. According to figures from Ultracine, there has not been a week of greater attendance at the theaters since records were tracked: 2,890,521 people attended the Argentine theaters.
The previous record was held by the opening week of "Toy Story 4", the highest grossing film in Argentine history with more than 6 million viewers. That week 2,582,575 tickets had been cut.

1) Year 2023: 2,890,521 (Week 30). Winter holidays and  "Barbie" premieres

2) Year 2019: 2,582,575 (week 25). Premiere of “Toy Story 4”

3) Year 2015: 2,549,973 (week 28). Winter holidays with "Minions" on the billboard.

4) Year 2016: 2,531,279 (week 29). Winter Break. "The Secret Life of Pets" Premiere

It is the second post-pandemic historical record since the month of May closed with figures never seen before.

"Barbie" was responsible for 56% of the tickets sold this week. But "Elemental" also joined with almost 500,000 tickets, "Oppenheimer" with 270,000, "Insidious: The Red Door" with 140,000 and "Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning - Part 1" with 124,000.

Barbie had a 28% drop, even when the Thursday and Friday of its OW got the benift of havng the whole country school off, while this last week, 15 out of 23 cities came back to school.
Opphenheimer on the other hand, sold 10.5% more tickets this weekend !!! than on its OW.

Harsh drops for everything due to the end of Winter's Holidays: Barbie (-75%), Elemental (-92%!!), Haunted Mansion (-96% lmao). Only Oppenheimer (-42%) saved face thanks to its adult audience. 

 

The drops should moderate a little over the weekend, but the post-Winder's Holidays hangover has always been brutal. 

The First Slam Dunk had a respectable debut for a limited release.

Barbie is a monster over here. Not Minions level but I hope it stabilizes and sells 4m+ admits. Oppenheimer legs are sexy. 1m+ admits would be good.
