Fullbuster
Anyway SW7 will win the WW race. I don't know, we'll see about that. It's possible of course but The Avengers is quite something huge in itself, we're in an era of comic book movies, will the youth around the world be excited about Star or will they think it's old-fashioned? There is a lot of uncertainty, I'm unable to predict it because there are too many variables.
Emirazza
That is 100% locked NOT to happen. SW is no Potter/Avengers OS. Yeah, its no potter or avengers, its Star Wars. A brand everyone knows, almost everyone watched. If not watched, at least they pretend to be knowing SW. I've got lot of my friends who have hardly watched a SW film. But they all want to watch SW7. Its a must watch movie in everyone's schedule. Not just in SW fans. But everyone in general. There's a friend of mine who has never watched a hollywood film in a cinema. Even he wants to see it. That's a kind of anticipation this movie's got. Edited April 12, 2015 by Emirazza

Not sure you can extrapolate from anecdotal evidence anyway. But I doubt SW will be big in Latin America and many other countries. Definitely not in Avengers or Furious 7 level. But I doubt SW will be big in Latin America and many other countries. Definitely not in Avengers or Furious 7 level. I think SW7 will be big in LA. It has the Disney machine behind it this time. I am not sure about how big but I was not expecting Fast 7 to be that big so anything could happen. But it opens in Argentina on January 2016 so it won't take 2015 crown there, it doesn't matter how big it was and January is not a good release date there even though lately it became better than last decade. Fullbuster
Colombia 48m+ inhabitants Argentina 41m+ inhabitants Fast 7 Colombia last weekend 613 screens Fast 7 Argentina last weekend 410 screens I said that because the GDP per capita is higher in Argentina, so technically people able to pay for a ticket are more numerous than in Colombia. But I forgot the economy of Argentina is quite bad right now while Colombia is still doing well. Colombia is also younger and less developed than Argentina outside of Bogota so it's only the beginning.

This year almost every movie is selling more tickets in Colombia than in Argentina: Hobbit 3, Grey, Insurgent, Cinderella and many more. Colombia started to beat Argentina in 2014. Fast 6 sold more admissions in Argentina. Colombia is growing pretty fast and furiously

Star wars is not a A+ property outside US. If the first movie is good, then it will help the second one in a big way. As of now, it is not a match for Avengers, Bond or Fast and furious movies abroad.. Edited April 13, 2015 by samsha22
