Have any of the Aussies here seen the movie Triangle, starring Melissa George and a young Liam Hemsworth?  It's an Australian production and it kind of blew my mind.  It's a good movie but there are so many theories running around as to what takes place in the movie.

 

I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

Good movie, check out The Abandoned for something similar, but more on the horror side.

Never seen it and only have vague memories of it existing.  It wasn't really released here.  What accent do they have?  Looks to be more of a British movie.

Have you seen the movie? I really enjoyed it, it's one of my favourite horror/paranormal movies.

 

I had my theory after watching it, that she and her son got killed in a car accident and her spirit was trapped in this never ending circle of hell where she had to try to survive that cursed ship and get back to her house to save her son from her abusive self over and over. That what I just watched in the movie was her 'afterlife' experience. What do you think?

is that like the ships name, Aeolus, she too is stuck doing the same thing over and over again.  Remember Sally says briefly in the film, "Aeolus is the greek god who cheated death then death caught up with him and he was forced to push a boulder up a hill for eternity.  To me it looks like she is forced to kill her friends for eternity.  Maybe she cheated death on the ship in 1932.  There are so many theories running around.

I have seen it and my theory

is that like the ships name, Aeolus, she too is stuck doing the same thing over and over again.  Remember Sally says briefly in the film, "Aeolus is the greek god who cheated death then death caught up with him and he was forced to push a boulder up a hill for eternity.  To me it looks like she is forced to kill her friends for eternity.  Maybe she cheated death on the ship in 1932.  There are so many theories running around.  

I've read some theories from people who've seen it but I still believe in the first theory I'd got from watching it the first time. All of them were cursed once they entered the Triangle and went on board that ship. Jess got away from the loop before and ended up in the past (the Triangle messed up with the timeline). She then killed her past self to save her son but instead making thing worse by getting them both killed. She then asked the taxi driver (= the ferry man) to take her to the harbour (in stead of the other side where she could've properly passed over) just so she could re-enter the time loop that could lead her to her past again hoping to make it right next time. However, she always lost her memory of her previous loop gradually once she started the next journey and judging by the number of the dead seagulls next to the car accident we could see that she'd made the same mistake over and over. 

 

The rest of her friends had been cursed to make the same trip, go aboard Aeolus just to be killed by Jess (who tried to make it back to her son) for all eternity
