Even if it is (which I doubt), Cameron's made his career on taking his time with his films. I wouldn't want him to do any different here. I'd be willing to wait until 2020.

I'm sure he will make BA someday. He didn't buy the rights just for putting it in his locker. The question is when. After finishing Avatar sequels, he might just go back to his explorer character and maybe a few years later, he feels likes a huge feature film challenge, and he will be back to his director role.
