He, it's great TDKR will probably make a billion dollars.

But one billion dollars is the new 900 million dollars.

Yes, if the movie has 3D. But this is not the case. The last 2D movie which hit 1 billion mark was precisely TDK. It's very difficult that a 2D movie can get 1 billion

Hardly, since both Avatar and Titanic both crossed 2 billion.

Avatar was a 3D global phenomenon and Titanic needed a big 3D re-release to pass $2B WW. Will be a while before another film hits that $2B WW figure so $1B WW is still special for now. Especially for a 2D film like TDKR. Edited by JCS

If TDKR makes 1.1 billion USD worldwide in the end it will be the "7th highest grossing movie ever unadjusted".That's great. Congrats to the Nolan bros and the WBs.But it's not even close to flicks like HP1 or ID4 that once were the "second highest grossing movies ever". And so on.

The fact it's even sniffing a billion without the Joker, without a dead actor fueling hype, and with such a bleak/humorless tone is impressive.
