Will be interesting to see how high it can go from here being that the first made $4.9M and this still has the rest of January for school holidays. Of course the time of year helps vs June but it's encouraging to see movies do well here and hopefully it translates to the rest of the world once things start going on that front again.

Pretty great performance it's holding much better here and in Australia than I would have thought going in to it. Probably a positive sign that post COVID theatrical could return to doing very well.

Major difference for Albany is we have VMAX (which is the majority of GvK right now) Hobbs and Shaw did not so will be a higher ATP at least specifically for this one cinema.

 

But yeah apart from that seems like a decent comp without knowing reception.

Great day for the sneak showings with a very late additional cinema added, sales fro tomorrow were weak but hopefully walkups improve things there. Also there is a clear demand for VMAX compared to the regular sessions which bodes well for ATP.

HOYTS Wednesday 32 shows on 10 locs N$25,955.

Fiji N$2K on 3 locs.

Reading N$14,553 on 9 locs.

 

Since Event is main chain in NZ and has 20 locs, I suppose it will be double of HOYTS in gross as well. That's N$95K Approx from these 4. Since this is first time doing this, let's see how actuals come. I am thinking N$100-110k Wednesday.

 

NZ tracking is actually easier.  @Jamiem I suppose you should track one chain; HOYTS or Reading. HOYTS is easier as you can select all theaters at once.

What I do is, I open all the shows in new tabs, and then search "seat taken". The actual seat sold are 1 less than what search show.

Might be a snap lockdown in Auckland (will know in about 2 hours) so might hold off on doing a look at presales of that is the case as they will likely slowdown if we do have a lockdown. 
 

edit: looking at Wednesday night for Albany there is only about 10 tickets across 3 shows so far so not starting off that hot anyway.
